DOJ says privatizing state lotteries illegal
Geez, If I bought a Lotto ticket, would I have to confer with the Feds before I went an Leased my ticket to someone else??
When we sign the back of a ticket we establish ownership and the worth of the ticket is determined by the state's lottery rules and regulations. We've heard about many court cases where the ownership of tickets was in dispute but I don't think any of them disputed the state's lottery rules and regulations. Quebec Lottery winners' names to kept secret
that's some legislation who's time has come for most of the world. too many people taking advantage of lottery winners, that...... don't know how to say no! My attitude always has been, establish a trust, let the trust cash the ticket, be done with it. Nice motor Home and get lost for a while.

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Congress cannot and will not consider legislation to regulate State Lottery's. Give it up folks. I heard someone complain about randomizers being used in raffle drawings. Imagine a machine large enough to hold 625,000 ping pong balls in PA to draw the number.

Legal or not?
There is case history in Florida showing that it is perfectly legal. I'm not sure why they would post that. Probably overreacting to the new legislation, just like a lot of companies have. It's not even a law yet, making it an odd move.

online gambling law
Great and informative post Tungsten Chef! If Netteller isn't subject to US laws, then how does having Netteller transfer funds into a US bank come into to play? Between Todd's and your expertise, it sounds like we're overreacting to this new legislation. Thanks!

Internet gambling restrictions attached to port bill
House and Senate negotiators reached agreement last night on legislation to tighten maritime and port security regulations and, in a last-minute move, added an unrelated measure that seeks to ban Internet gambling.
At the same time, House negotiators prevailed in their fight to strip out $4.5 billion in rail and mass-transit security funds included in the Senate provision.
The port security and Internet gambling legislation was approved 409 to 2 in the House and on a voice vote in the Sena
