NY Lottery and Anonymity
After reading Queens man claims $133M Mega Millions lottery jackpot , on LP, I wrote to the New York Lottery in regard to anonymity. I got the following reply:
Thank you for your inquiry.
New York Lottery policy has always been to release the name and city of
residence of each winner to the media. Since the New York Lottery is a
government agency and New York Lottery prizes are public funds, it is
our responsibility to inform the people of New York State of New York

Nevada Gov. flip-flops on lottery
True or not, it doesn't really matter
Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons might not remember it, but the record shows he has flip-flopped on the issue of a state lottery.
Gibbons told a town hall audience in Minden last week, I have no problem with a lottery. As they have for decades, lawmakers are again considering creating a state lottery in Nevada.

In some states (those that don't allow one to remain anonymous) the back of the ticket contains a consent to a press release.
This consent is made when the person purchases the ticket.
They have to sign it to collect a winner, but the purchase date on front of the ticket is the date the pres release was agreed .

First Ca$hola jackpot win in Delaware
A Dover woman won $318,770 on a penny slot machine at Dover Downs Hotel Casino.
Ingrid Karas won the jackpot Tuesday on the multistate game Ca$hola.
It was the first Ca$hola win in Delaware and the second-highest jackpot at the casino, according to a news release from Dover Downs.
The game also is played in Rhode Island and West Virginia.
Karas, a retired telephone operator, moved to Delaware from Long Island, N.Y, four years ago.

N.J. native wins $38M Calif. Lottery jackpot
Oceanside resident Eugene Salek told officials at the California Lottery that he followed his usual routine yesterday morning. He got up, made coffee and then checked his SuperLotto Plus tickets from the night before.
He knew then that he had won $38 million.

Florida man claims $6 million Lotto jackpot
A trip to Publix netted a North Port man $6 million.
Even after buying the winning ticket, Ronald Tourville forgot to check the numbers. He had forgotten about his tickets until Sunday night when he opened his wallet and saw them. He then logged onto the Florida Lottery's Web site to check his numbers and discovered he was the winner.
