Canada lottery retailers win major prizes more than public
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) said this morning it's not worried that ticket retailers win prizes of more than $10,000 six times more often than the rest of the players.
There have been four confirmed cases of retailer misconduct over the last two years, with three involving ticket sellers misleading ticket holders about how much or whether they had won.
Some ticket buyers say they have considered that possibility before.
One man says if the lottery retailer has the

MegaMillions and Quick Pick
Shane3 and Rjoh:
I have only been with the LP for about 2 months or so and am still green because until I joined this board I did not know how to spell Lottery.
What I gather from these posts by both of you is that the Lottery (HQTRS) in whatever state you are in receives the picks from the downstream terminals at your friendly convenience store and takes that infor and sweeps the picked numbers to determine what is the best set of numbers to allow to be picked by the next draw. Is that w

The possibilities for fraud in RNG games
Quote: Originally posted by stefan on July 14, 2006 Hi everybody,
I have been following this thread with objective eyes. Anyone knows that many lottery players tend to play dates , like today, the pick 3 combination 147 and pick 4 combination 0147 (14 of july[07] in any order) has been played quite heavily. So, go figure it out. I haven't had the time yet to do some investigations, but if not a single draw result in any pick 3 or pick 4 state, that uses a computer to draw the numbers, matche

Arizona man proposes lottery to increase voter turnout
Saddam was a brutal vile dictator, but let's face it, the US is not against all dictators and does not invade a country just because it is ruled by a brutal vile dictator. I don't have time to respond to all of this, but here's a list of all the mini-Hitlers the US has had no trouble supporting over the years. http://www.omnicenter.org/warpeacecollection/dictators.htm
That's quite a list, and it should tell you that the US has no problem with mini-Hitlers who do the bidding of the US. In fa

Lottery scams target big-spending Australians
Overseas lottery scams are flourishing and Australians are being sucked in, many of them losing thousands of dollars, the Australian Consumer Fraud Taskforce (ACFT) says.
Lottery scams, in which people are asked to pay a fee and give personal information to access winnings from a bogus lottery, are one of the most reported confidence tricks nationwide.
ACFT chair Louise Sylvan said poorer consumers were attracted to the scams, which had increased at an alarming rate in recent years.

Lottery Post ExclusiveFalling in lockstep with a controversial industry trend, the Missouri Lottery decided to change its lottery drawings from mechanical lottery ball machines to a random number generator computer system.Opponents of the computerized drawings say that computers cannot achieve the true randomness of a physical drawing mechanism, mainly due to computers' inherent non-random properties. In addition, with computer hacking, viruses, and tampering on the rise, concerned citizens worry

$10,000 winner suing Tennessee lottery
How much is a lost chance at $1 million worth? That's the crucial question raised by a lawsuit filed by a Fayetteville man who claims mistakes during the state's first $1 million lottery drawing cost him a chance at the top prize. But determining how much he was damaged by a lost chance would be difficult, local attorneys said.Dennis Perry, a 57-year-old disabled veteran, won $10,000 in the June 26 drawing at Opry Mills. He was one of three finalists for the big prize. In a lawsuit filed in Lincol

lottery machine and computer
Goose:My point is that a lottery drawing which utilizes a computerized electronic random number generator is subject to fraud and manipulation to a much greater degree than one using ping-pong balls. Seeing the drawing take place has very little to do with the actual outcome, but Indiana has covered that objection as well, since their broadcast is animated to look like it's being done with ping-pong balls. I have yet to find an Indiana player who knows (or knew before I told them) that Indiana u
