$586 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot climbs toward a new record
I just try to process how does the amount of sales affect the jackpot: $550 million was the carry-over from last week. $400 million in sales, x% of that goes into the prize pool, 65.154% of the prize pool is allocated to the jackpot prize. This jackpot is going to be a record one. I hope that someone (me, obviously) will win today. I think if the jackpot keeps rising it would just backfire later making people think 'What's the jackpot this time? $150 million? Pff, that's nothing!'.

How do I properly run an online lottery pool?
What if I just started the pool without worrying about the legal stuff? I was planning on starting it as early as tomorow.

if invited to join a lottery pool at work: would you or not? Yes. I would really really really be depressed if I had to keep working only because I didn't want to join the pool and people I work with, some of who I can't stand, are far away enjoying their jp share. Some wise man once said Men go to far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire.

I ran the pool at my last company. I was drafted as the organized person when the prior organizer left. It was a little bit of a headache, but everyone was good about paying on time. I do not run a pool at my current company and I'm not going to suggest one. We've got a few serious Mormons in the upper management. Since the LDS frowns on gambling...
