Mathematics and the Lottery
Hi, I agree with point 1. conditionally. There is currently no system that can will allow everybody to win consistently. Please note that in California, 6% of the dollars recieved always goes to administrative costs. If the game is paramutel, the payouts are scaled accordingly. Reguardless, there is always enough money. About point 2..... I think it depends on diffferent factors. What is a winning system? One that produces a positive cash flow? Is it one you can retire with?

Alford named sole finalist to lead Georgia Lottery
The sole finalist to lead the Georgia Lottery is the state's top budget official, Debbie Dlugolenski Alford, officials said Tuesday. The acknowledgement confirmed a report last week by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Alford was a leading candidate to replace Margaret DeFrancisco as president of one of the country's most successful lotteries. Alford currently leads the governor's Office of Planning and Budget and serves on the Lottery Board. She would be the state's first lottery dire

Dropping out of lottery pool costs teacher millions
Dave Johnston is kicking himself for pulling out of a lottery pool that's about to cash in a lucky ticket for $30 million. The steam-fitting instructor at Red Deer College in central Alberta, Canada, used to play regularly with plumbing teachers he sat with in the school's lunchroom every day. But he pulled out over a year ago. It's hard to stay in, said Johnston, who added he kept putting in his cash but the pool wasn't winning big. He eventually decided it just wasn't going to happen

N.C. couple nabbed $1M lottery prize just before it expired
Couple reluctantly steps forward to claim lottery winnings ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You'd think that the news that you'd won the lottery would galvanize you to pick up the check--and probably quit your job--with all deliberate haste. Not so for North Carolina lottery winners Raleigh and Erin Hill of North Carolina who waited until the day before the ticket expired to cash on their winnings. Even though they learned of their good fortune a few weeks after the A

Poll: Jinxing yourself?
Good post DD! OOPS, that's me! More, . A winner is prepared for the win in every conceivable way he or she can be. Example: One LP member has a LP hat and shirt on hand for when he wins a particular game. He most likely has worn it in front of a mirror and envisioned himself accepting a jackpot check in the photo that will be taken. How prepared are you to win? Are you daydreaming about it or are you prepared to win? Do you have an attorney selected? Do you know the process of

Would you play 90 to win
I beg to differ with your last statement. If the system is consistent and you're spending more to make less profit, then this is considered an UPSIDE DOWN PROFIT. This type of system, though, has higher consistency and will be more dependable...hence recovering the investment entirely enroute to actually making money. I've played this way before and it works. See, everybody has it all wrong about PROFIT and MAKING MONEY. Consistency will offset having to try and make all the money at one time

Calif. man claims $134M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
A couple of observations: A quick pick It appears that they interviewed his bank.....which would make me very nervous if I were doing any banking business. It said he lives a few blocks from the Donut shop where the winning ticket was purchased, it is possible that he walks there...I would worry about being mugged. One could do a quick online telephone directory search, look up his name, number and address and bug the%^% ^^ out of him. AS said before, he didn't lay low until after the

California school teachers hit $76M lottery jackpot
A group of 15 teachers and administrators at Shasta Lake School, who've been playing the state lottery together for seven years, picked the winning numbers for a $76 million SuperLotto Plus jackpot that was drawn on Saturday. I'm happy to say every person who won is at work today, said Helen Herd, principal of Shasta Lake School and one of the region's newest millionaires. The jackpot was drawn on Saturday and the winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K in town, but the group of school
