How Comes
CT: Once again you have come up with a great thread. In Florida the Fantasy5 (pick 5) game has great odds. In addition, the game has daily pots from $200,000.00 to $300,000.00. The bad news is that every since the introduction of EZ Match a new iteration in the game, has essentially produced greater interest, which is what the palace of pure thought in Tallahassee (Lottery HQ) wanted. However, because of the renewed interest the game has produced multiple winners more than 60% of the tim

Kansas Powerball lottery winner claims jackpot anonymously
A government worker and grandfather from the Topeka area stepped forward Monday to claim the $15 million Powerball jackpot from Wednesday's drawing. The man, who under state law can remain anonymous, chose to take a cash lump-sum payment of $7.17 million instead of the entire amount over 29 years. After taxes, he took home a little more than $5 million. I'm now referring to my life as BP (Before Powerball) and AP (After Powerball), he said. Last Tuesday I was worried about how I was goi

N.C. Lottery fraud trial: E-mail disclosure has witness in tears
Every action taken on a lottery central computer system is logged and monitored. The actual play information is not stored in any fashion that can be read by a computer operator - in fact it is scrambled to help make sure no one can see what numbers have been played. While not infallibale, (most) lotteries go to great lengths to ensure their quick pick algorithms are random. CA used the stats department at UCLA for many years and their sign-off was a necessary step in launching/upgra

A BigGame NotSoSecret Secret
MegaMillions and like games have a design feature that allows a single random quickpick bet( or someone with only a dollar) to have exactly the same chance as someone who has a lot of dough and cordons off a group of numbers for consecutive drawings. Because the system looks to make a profit.....a person who cordons off a set of numbers, could actually be lowering his chances to win simply because you may have many others betting on those numbers. The game is not going to have 5,000 people be

$45M N.Y. Lotto winner bought ticket on impulse
Quoite a few threads - and polls - on the various forums here on LP are covered in this statement: ________________________________________________ After she was hit with a hot flash during a late June trip to Brooklyn, 49-year-old Mary Ann Hrywnak ducked into David's Check Cashing to beat the heat and buy a Quick Pick Lotto ticket. It turned out to be a multimillion-dollar decision. ___________________________________________________ Threads and polls about everything

How do you select your numbers?
I just would like to give my opinions on what works and what does not. This is just what i have seen playing the california mega six and daily drawings. First rcommendation, I would recommend is the process of elimination. What I mean is dont choose numbers combinations that have already been drawn before. For example, on June 15, 1998 the jackpot numbers were 3-10-29-35-44-50 dont choose these numbers again. It will slightly increase your chances if you use this. Second recommendation. C

Protecting your numbers
I use a similar strategy. For many years I kept a file on certain types of lottery drawings and wrote a computer program to process them, accounting, among other things, for their frequency in drawings that resulted in higher than average numbers of winners. No such program is infallable, since the majority of tickets sold are quick picks, but you can increase the liklihood that if your numbers come up, you will win alone. This is called raising your expectation value. The effect is
