The Empire Strikes Back
Ok the results are in. I need at least two hours to update the chart.
I have a problem I need to address soon.
No new fonts are being accepted. I am reaching once again the event horizon.

Winning the lottery: Then getting married or married & winning the Big One?
Winning then getting married. This way, I already had the money, big house, cars and toys BEFORE the ball and chain. Anything accummulated after that can be split in the event she desires to walk away...but what I had prior will be accounted for and still remain. If you're already married, though, it would advisable to just bite the bullet and remain married if things go sour once a windfall is encountered...which happens an awful lot these days.

Woman who let Powerball winner go ahead of her has no regrets
WOW. Didn't realize you were there.
Mindy said the old woman may have not realized she cut. Mindy insisted the old woman go ahead. Mindy has no regrets and wouldn't have won if she bought a ticket. No way would the event happen in the same nanosecond anyway.
But would love to hear how it went down from your place in line.

Lottery Code has already been broken
Hello yoho,
I agree with you that pre-test draws don't affect the real draws, but for totally different reasons I outlined in the above post. My issue is with the idea that each past draw an independent event, and past results have no bearing on future results. I think its flawed. Not wholly wrong, just flawed. Bear with me...This will be some length but hopefully interesting and directly applicable.
Your're of course familiar with the Big Bang Theory(or rather Low Hum). Basically it says

Lottery Code has already been broken
You're the one who started it. Are you so stupid you can't even understand what odds are? Have you ever been in a casino? Do you think they offer you the exactly a 38 : 1 payout for betting on 0 in roulettes just because there are 38 numbers?
Just because the event itself is 50/50 doesn't mean the odds offered are double or nothing . You could offer 10:1 payout or 0.00001:1 payout. You can't even understand that and you want to argue with me? And you're comparing the lottery to a fully d

Florida city still wondering: Who won the $590M lottery jackpot?
This I believe it's a senior citizen that purchased the ticket and they just have no idea that they won the ticket.
Ultimately, only moochers, the media, and the IRS really care at this point. The rest are just nosey-posey's. Going from a 9 to 5 to being a millionare 500 times over is a life altering event. Floridians need to just settle down. let the lucky person(s) get their ducks in a row. They're probably doing some soul searching, identifying who their REAL friends are (if they did

Lottery Code has already been broken
I've always said there is no such thing as random.
If that's what you believe, you should have been my biggest supporter when I said.....
Because the balls are NUMBERED, it is not a random event.

Anyone wonder how much money they would have if they hadn't played the lottery?
See, now this is what I'm getting at. This is what it's all about when playing the game correctly. You let your winnings (the house) do all the heavy lifting with the money (profit) you've won from them. The best part about this style of play is that even in the event of a loss, you're only giving back part of what you've already won from them anyway.
So, it's not a real loss...rather, an exchange of funds. Am I close with my summary here helpmewin?

PB California - Did they do the math right?
you mention the one guy who got over a million dollars. He is the exception not the rule. What about the 9 other people who got less than a million?
As fja correctly pointed out, the average payout for 5 + 0 in California is $642,816.
Don't get me wrong, $642,816 is nothing to sneeze at but matching 5 without the PB is most likely a once in a life time event and in my opinion deserves at least a million dollar prize. In all the other states, a million dollars for 5 + 0 is guaranteed but in
