Powerball. I like how the jackpots increase at least $10 million each draw. I really enjoyed the record breaker on January 13,2016. A Wednesday night. I am looking forward to another record setting PB run. Where oh where is the California ticket holder of the $1.6 billion jackpot?

People love to see Record be broken. It's like Star Wars Broke Avatar All time Record in box office in USA. It use to be 300 million is a big deal. Now it raise the bar once again. 1 Billion dollars Jackpot will became normal in the next 5 Years. This guy name MIke Wittkowski. He use to get death threat and became famous winning the largest lottery jackpot. He only won 40 million dollars in 1980

I am going expect mega million have no choice to change their matrix again. Since powerball smashed mega million record. The odd it going be 1 in 400 million. Same cost 1 dollars? White ball 1-100 red ball 1-75 Do you think mega million respond back by reclaim their old record?

Yeah I saw that and that's what I immediately though. They know this will be one for the record books. Couple years ago when they did the last record PB drawing they said they may do it at a special location if this reaches 1billion...so we may see a special televised event on saturday night too. I can easily see this reach 900 million as the jackpot...but maybe not quite the billion dollar mark yet....

I have noticed that when another top 25 jackpot win is made then Andrew Jackson Jack Whitaker will be pushed out. Either MM or PB. Jack is at #25 West Virginia 315.million. David Lee Edwards was overtaken a few record jackpots ago. Back to this Record-Breaking jackpot. $700 million!!! I am sure that this upcoming exchange of posts between Todd, Terry Rich, and us lottery members will include a few words about this history making activity.

Players should expect that the jackpot will increase again one or more times before the Saturday drawing, and unless standing in long lines can be considered fun , players should buy their tickets early. Yeah, Todd, they are low balling it for sure. It will beat the old record cash jackpot easily. Hell, they know from last record jackpot sales amount that players can push this thing to around 531,900,000 cash or 869,100,000 annuity!

Reaching a billion in one more draw is possible, but not likely. Even if it tops out at 550 tonight that's an increase of 450, which is 50% more than we've ever seen before, and that was almost 4 years ago. It's been a long time since I paid attention to such details, but I thought they honor the advertised annuity. There's extremely little risk in doing so, because they generally make conservative estimates, and almost nobody takes the annuity. I'd guess that there's less than a 10% chance of having to honor the annuity value, and perhaps a 10% chance of not having enough to fund the annuity if somebody takes it. That's a 1 in 1000 chance of losing the few million it would take to fund th annuity.
