Georgia lottery winner roundup
It's fun reading about people winning the lesser jackpots; especially with all the puns added.
We have enough discussions on winning the huge Mega Millions or Powerball jackpots. When was the last time somebody started a thread what would you do if you won $200,000 ?

Hoosier Lotto
If there's any time to play Hoosier Lotto, it's now, because after it's won, it could be a very long time before it comes even close to what it is now. I don't think the jackpot is the only prize to justify a switch from PowerBall though. It all depends on which scale you want to play and what odds you want. You got multi-state lotteries like PowerBall and Mega Millions that can reach supersized jackpots and the odds of winning top prize is huge. Then you got state jackpot lotteries that can rea

PowerBall & MegaMillions Sold In Same State?
Are there any states that sell both PowerBall and MegaMillions? I'm thinking not, and I always thought it's because the population of one state couldn't/wouldn't support both. But then my state added Hot Lotto to its stable of lottery products, and really, what's the difference? In fact, I'm thinking MegaMillions would bring more sales than Hot Lotto. With Hot Lotto the jackpots are pretty low, only a little over $4 million right now, while MegaMillions tickets cost the same amount ($1) and

Colorado chalks up its first Powerball winner
You confuse the term unlikely with impossible. It's statistically unlikely anyone who buys a PB or MM tickets will ever win the jackpot, but somewhere 2-4 times every month there's a winner so it's possible but rare.
People who like to play when the jackpots are $100M+ are lucky that there are people who will play to win a $12M jackpot or there would never be any $100M+ jackpots for them. Besides the odds of winning are the same regardless of the jackpot size.

Jackpots
This is my poll question. Which one will set a record? Is it PB jackpot going over 365 million, MM jackpot going over 390 million, or CA SLP with 24 or more straight rolls without a CA SLP Jackpot winner. Post your choice and why did you choose your choice?
My choice is PB jackpot reaches 365 million or more.

Lotto fever isn't what it used to be
At one point, Mega Millions sales in California were expected to fall 37 percent below budget for the fiscal year that ended June 30. The final numbers aren't out, but the lottery got a boost when a Mega Millions jackpot reached a record $390 million in March. A lack of big jackpots was to blame for poor sales, lottery officials said
I've been saying it forever only to be shot down by people on this post. The general public wants large jackpots more often...period.

$400,000,000 Threshold
It's because people want to see a jackpot reach the $400M mark. To me it doesn't really matter. I could care less whether or not it makes it to $400M, however it is pretty exciting to see such a large jackpot. Most people would probably be just as happy taking home(after taxes) $50M as they would $100M. Hell, even $25M for that matter. After all, most people play the lottery so they can retire. For those not looking to retire, they might be able to make use of the extra money, especially if they
