Texas legislature defeats Internet lottery bill
Money these families need to pay for groceries, the light bill or the rent could be wasted on the lottery instead, the two agreed. If their budgets are that tight, the odds are very good that they won't have a computer, internet access or a credit card. Besides, what's going to keep all those nasty poor people from walking down to their local 7-11 and spending that money on lottery tickets in spite of the lawmakers' opinions? What's going to keep that ten-year-old from glomming onto Mommy's AT

Lottery Ethics
It's a personal choice based on your view. The words moral and ethics are often used interchangeably. However, it is useful to make the following distinction: Morality is the system through which we determine right and wrong conduct (i.e.: the guide to good or right conduct). Ethics is the philosophical study of Morality.

Lottery Ethics
Generally, I try to avoid RNG like the plague, even opting for a higher odds game at times. I often switch back to the lower odds RNG, but then I think Playing this game violates all my ethics and beliefs regarding games of chance. However many states are opting for this questionable practice. What do you think? Should these games be boycotted? Are they free from corruption? How can a player protect themselves when playing games like Quick Draw? Do the dangers outweigh the rewards? Jus

The ethics board also identified Gordon Myers of the Asheville area, another Black appointee, as having a potential conflict of interest because Myers has a financial stake in the Ingles supermarket chain, which might sell lottery tickets.Myers, a former Ingles executive, has already said he will not speak privately with any potential lottery contractor. He told the ethics board he would not participate in any votes that could involve his former employer.Myers is on the lottery commission becaus

Texas Lottery executive had no hint before firing
You have some strange ideas, CO, unlike my humble self (strictly conventional, a fencewalker on almost everything).Corruption involves moral turpitude.. annuities don't (necessarily). Ethics are a more complicated issue, but it takes a major stretch to wrap an issue of annuities up into a breakfast taco carrying the label 'unethical'.You don't like annuities. You don't like the lousy payoffs of NY lottery. That's legit. But that doesn't equate to corruption, doesn't have any bearing on ethi

lost jackpot ticket
Just a slight twist to the question...what if you observed someone accidently leave the ticket on the counter or even watched it fall from their pocket to the ground. Would you let the person know or would you palm the ticket for yourself? And perhaps another question is...could you honestly live with yourself knowing you was reaping a reward that was not honestly yours? Or do you set aside all of your ethics and not worry about it ?Perhaps a statement to consider is this...A man who is good do

Mississippi lottery board adopts rules on ethics and records
The governing board for the upcoming Mississippi Lottery is setting rules for ethics and public records. It is also taking steps to hire bankers to provide financial services and a person to run day-to-day operations. Mississippi is one of the last states to create a lottery after legislators voted to do so in August, partly as a way to provide money to pay for roads and bridges. Republican Gov. Phil Bryant nominated the five lottery corporation board members several months ago, and th
