Lucky player tells of uncanny connection to raffle drawing By Kate Northrop The $1 million winner of the Maryland Lottery's first-ever Holiday Raffle said she believes her late mother had something to do with it. A Maryland lottery player revealed a coincidental connection between her late mother and the Maryland Lottery's new Holiday Raffle, in which she won the game's $1 million top prize. Karen L. of Rosedale didn't know it, but she was about to have the greatest start to a ne

"A lot of high fiving in the store" after Idaho man discovers he won $1 million Raffle prize
It was kind of like a craps table when you're on hot dice. Includes video report By Kate Northrop One of the $1 million top prize winners in the Idaho Lottery's annual $1,000,000 Raffle was having a casual time sipping coffee at his local store, but things turned exciting when he checked one of his tickets. The Idaho Lottery caught up with one of the big winners in their annual $1,000,000 Raffle, a long time lottery player and sixth generation Idahoan who plans on using his $1 m

Ten years later, Florida Lottery Millionaire Raffle is back
A whopping 2,000,000 tickets for sale and over $22.8 million in cash prizes By Kate Northrop After a ten-year hiatus, the Florida Lottery has brought back its Millionaire Raffle, giving players in the state the best odds at winning $1 million. The Florida Lottery's Millionaire Raffle has made a return after taking a ten-year break, and it's brought with it several cash prizes and multiple drawings. At $20 per ticket, players can enter for a chance to win $1 million, and there's a

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Hey G5! Good to see you're also fighting the good fight! I'm in the raffle because it came out right at a time when I decided to take a break from the lottery. I quit playing scratch-offs awhile back. I had been playing JTP regularly, but the method I'm using for number selection dictated a break until June (don't ask!) If by felt that you really could you mean 'can I afford it?' then yes. Considering the recent inflationary trends, I am fortunate to be in a position to still have disc

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I tend to agree with almost everything you wrote, but there is one thing I'm not sure about. In Pennsylvania (a state that's held a Millionaire Raffle for maybe the last 20 consecutive years) something happened six or seven years ago that was caused by what some called Raffle Fatigue on the part of players. In almost every year, the PA Lottery usually begins selling Millionaire Raffle tickets in early October, and the drawing is held shortly after The New Years Day Holiday. Although I c

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I have my doubts that 2 million tickets can be sold considering the time of year The Florida Lottery is running what they're calling 'a promotion'. The Pennsylvania Lottery's Millionaire Raffle ticket selling window is during the fourth quarter of the year. It gets a nice boost in sales during Christmas when people gift raffle tickets. The maximum number of tickets that can be sold is 500,000 and for many years The PA Lottery has had no problem selling all 500,000 tickets. The Florida Lotte

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
The Lottery hasn't updated the weekly Raffle sales data yet, but I bought a ticket this morning around 11:00, a week after the lottery's last update. My ticket was 2775xx, and the lottery's last reported was 263272. 2775xx minus 263272 equals 14228. 14228 divided by 7 equals an average of 2032 tickets drawn per day this past week. We're 89 days into the Raffle, so 2775xx divided by 89 equals 3118. 3118 times 122 (number of days in the Raffle) equals a potential total sales figure of 38

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Not so much can I afford it but rather due to the low odds? (at least in terms of 'lottery land' odds they're low) Years ago while I was buying some Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle tickets, the woman behind the counter said to me - Well! Aren't you the smart one! She then said At least people have a decent shot at actually winning this. I realized that she was a 'Focal Point'. She saw how many people bought tickets for the big games, but she didn't see many of them bring back a winning tick
