The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I think they're doing a raffle as just a way to shake it up and try something different. Raffles do well in other states, so maybe they can catch on here too.
I'd think that a first or second time (in so many years) might fly under the radar, but bring awareness to this new way to play after it concludes and later if a new round begins. This round would advertise the next, so to speak, as people who didn't play hear about the winnings. A loss of revenue once isn't a loss if it becomes a spri

Once homeless, now a lottery winner: Colorado man gets his $1 million comeback
Tough sales day leads to a big break in luck
By Kate Northrop
What seemed like an impossible situation is now one Colorado man's reality after he successfully lifted himself out of homelessness and proceeded to win $1 million in the lottery.
A formerly homeless Colorado man worked to remove himself from his unfortunate circumstances, and in doing so indirectly won a $1 million lottery prize.
Jonathan G. was having a tough sales day while working as a cell phone representative. He

About those NC Digital Online Games...What's the verdict?
I checked this out. They operate like multi-line video slot machines. For $100, you can bet 50 cents a spin and play for hours. The purpose is to burn time. It is possible to win, but it's unlikely because of the low variance. You're grinding your money down, giving the house an average of 12% of your bet, over and over and over.
Technically the NC digital games are not slot machines. They are scratch-off tickets. I looked at one and it has 2,000,000 tickets, of which one is the jackpot.

I'm done playing the lottery
What made me mad is that both sides blamed the other.
The lottery can tell how much I spent on scratch-offs because those tickets are eligible for a second chance drawing. In their files is a list of tickets I've scanned for second chance drawing entries.
But they decided they would rather stick to their guns and blame the retailer, and while they might be right according to the official rules, I also don't have to play their games. And if I do choose to buy any tickets, it certainly won

Once homeless, now a lottery winner: Colorado man gets his $1 million comeback
It's nice to see the Colorado Lottery in the news. I've played the 200X game a few times. One time I won $50.
He's been playing scratch-off games on and off for a few years, he told the Colorado Lottery, but only when he could afford to . Jonathan will usually stick to the $5 games, recalling that the largest amount he'd ever won was $20.
...
I was having a tough sales day , and it actually paid off, Jonathan recalled. My reaction was total disbelief.
Those are oppos

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I've rethought my ticket buying strategy..... I decided to buy one raffle ticket per week in June. I'm gambling that there wont be a ticket buying frenzy during June. If there is a frenzy, no harm done. If there isn't one, I figured I'd be better off with more tickets in my hand than not.
I stopped in a RaceTrack today and bought ticket number 2984XX. BTW I was shocked when I ordered one Florida Millionaire Raffle ticket and the clerk responded with You want MegaMillions? She had never sold

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
This is a classic question in sociology and applied economics, and the answer is well-documented by demographic studies and market research in the United States (such as data from the Brookings Institution, the Tax Foundation, and various state lotteries).
The direct answer is: people from all social classes play, but the financial impact, frequency, and motivation are profoundly different between the poorest and the wealthiest.
Here is the breakdown of how lottery consumption

The $29.95 Non-Believerz
I bet Elmer's at the same store today jamming money into that machine. Then gonna go get a free hamburger. Then back home to play Oregon trail on his Macintosh.
Yup! Tells everyone elese what to do. And his theroys. But never shows any winners.....
Learn how to spell. And you can take your nasty attitude and shove it.
I have plenty of winners but nothing huge yet. I pick out scratch off games that have a higher than expected chance of winning. But you go ahead and play your stupid

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Wanted to update/correct my previous figures, as for some reason I thought there were only three interim prize periods, and there are actually four. Bottom line, 640,900 tickets need to be sold to fund all prizes to be awarded in the Raffle (interim prizes and Grand Prizes.) The duration of the raffle is 122 days, so sales need to average 5,245 tix a day. Based on the Lottery's figure of 169,906 tix sold as of 4/17 , sales are averaging 3,540 tix/day so far. Hard to say if sales will pick up or

"I can't believe it!" North Carolina man hugs store clerk after winning $2 million prize
He was presented with the choice of either taking the one-time lump sum of $1.2 million or annual payments of $100,000 over 20 years and chose the lump sum. After federal and state taxes, he collected a total of $864,126.
I think it would be great if the prizes shown on scratch off tickets are the Lump Sum.
If it's 2M thats what it is then take off taxes.
Looks like everything must have an annuity version to make the prize look bigger and appealing.
Congratulations on the win Sh
