Minnesota Lottery Director Dies in Apparent Suicide
How awful. It sounds as though he thought it was just a matter of time before criminal activity was discovered and did not want to go to prison. There's sure to be a much more extensive audit done now!

Colorado Lottery trying to win back trust
The Colorado Lottery Commission took an important step toward sprucing up the agency's increasingly tarnished image this week by approving tough new conflict-of-interest rules. For a department that relies on ticket-buying citizens for the bulk of its money, a clean reputation can't be underestimated. The new rules prohibit employees from accepting any gifts from companies that do business with the Lottery. In the past, those same companies wined and dined employees, took them to Denver Broncos ga

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings under suspicion again
Lottery draws same numbers 3 days in a row; same thing happened last month
When will the Tenn. Lottery dump the computer draws?
Seven was a lucky number for Tennessee lottery players last week. A very, very, very lucky number.
For three consecutive days, the winning ticket in the Cash 3 drawing was some combination of two sevens and a zero. Thursday, the winning Cash 3 number at midday was 0-7-7. Friday, the winning midday number was 7-0-7. And Saturday evening, the winning number was a

Tenn. Lottery CEO claims sales unhurt by numerous errors
Tennessee Lottery chief Rebecca Hargrove said Monday there's no sign that players have lost confidence despite a daily drawings computer glitch.
A July switch to computerized drawings had incorrectly prevented repeat numbers in the drawings until a programming error was fixed in August. The error meant that no winning draw included duplicate numerals, so any ticket holder who had bet on a number like 2-2-1 or 7-7-7-7 wasn't going to win.
But quarterly sales for Cash 3 tickets sales rose 5

Winning retailers named by B.C. Lottery Corporation
The B.C. Lottery Corporation has gone public with the names of its lottery retailers who have won major prizes, following this week's scathing report by the B.C. ombudsman into lottery irregularities.
The report said lottery officials have failed to protect consumers from possible fraud by ticket retailers, citing examples of retailers winning thousands of dollars at a much higher rate than that of the public at large.
Some of the retailers being named by the corporation are speaking out,

Texas Lottery defends jackpot advertising policies
The Texas Lottery Commission defended its Lotto Texas jackpot advertising policies yesterday, after an audit said the current practice could reduce the amount of money transferred to the state to support education.
An uproar last summer over the lottery's decision to advertise four jackpots that officials knew they couldn't afford to pay cost former executive director Reagan Greer his job and shook public confidence in the games.
As a result, the lottery commission approved a measure in Oc
