I agree with your statement. The car industry is different, because cars are a necessity for most people. We don't really have to play the lottery. But most lottery players would agree that $5.00 is too high for a single ticket. Honestly, I think the reason why the Powerball jackpot is so high is because most people who previously followed Mega Millions completely stopped and switched over to playing Powerball.

I think a significant reason why the jackpot is so large is because most people completely stopped playing Mega Millions after the price of tickets increased to $5.00. So even the former Mega Millions fans completely focused on Powerball, since Powerball tickets are still $2.00.

Why do so many in CA win powerball?
In 2023 the 2 billion dollar jackpots were won in California, this year the last two jackpots out of 4 have been won in CA. Does anyone have the number tickets bought compared in other states? I'm assuming more people play in CA but also wondering how it compares to megamillions, MM sees to have jackpot winners in lots of different states, not as often in CA.

Super weird. Just bought powerball tickets. And there's no powerball logo printed on the top. And the machine kept posting the same numbers. But printed different numbers. I'm thinking I should have played the posted number.
