A Texas Lottery jackpot was "bought" last year, but legislators are pushing wrong solution
Great article, most of us outside of TX probably didn't know there was such a big controversy around the investment group buy up nearly all the combinations via a courier service. As you said, a profit is not even 100% guaranteed since they might have to split the jackpot with other winners. Sometimes a thing only has to appear unfair in order for the gov't to step in and change the rules. The TX lottery should just clear out the gray area and sell tickets online through its own app like hal

New Jersey couple's superstition leads them to win $874,025 Jersey Cash 5 lottery jackpot
The most important aspect of this was left out of this poorly written article here. Was it a quick pic or was it one of their regular numbers that they play. I am leaning toward it was a regular set of numbers and I fail to see what difference it would make where they played it. If it was a quick pic then yes, changing stores worked for them this time. The timing of the clerks fingers won them this. Not the store. I am impressed though with the win and them stating that it provides them with a l

What Is The Size of The Lottey Playing Public in The USA?
Every so often, I intentionally do not play for a month or two. I want to prove to myself that I'm in control and not addicted to gambling. As to how many people actually play on a regular basis, it's probably fewer than the article suggests. People are very aware that the lottery is a suckers bet. G5

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
Here's fantastic read especially fo those conspiracy theorists that think all MM or PB jackpot winners are from either California or New York. If you bother to read the article you'll know why that happens as much as it does. New Jersey woman to take legal action against Atlantic City casino after being refused $2.5M payout
Most slot machines show video graphics but most players don't believe a real buffalo herd is popping out of the machine. Next time at the Red Mile, I'll see how many machines show video graphic of things popping out and the jackpot value. The article says it happened after spending hundreds so she should have known how the machine operated and saw the video graphics.

is the lottery rigged?
Well there is this. It may not have been intentional but there was a programming error in the computer draws. The article has a large blank space in the middle so you have to scroll down to finish it. https://www.lotterypost.com/news/161740

$1.3 billion Powerball winner revealed by Oregon Lottery as three people splitting jackpot
I read in another article that they are splitting it equally 3 ways. So the fact that Chao is getting only 1/3 of the jackpot strongly indicates that she paid 1/3 of the total cost of their shared tickets. Plausibly, what happened is the husband (and wife) bought $200 worth of tickets, then later called up Chao to ask if she wanted to pitch in $100 more to buy more tickets on top of what he already purchased. That would make $300.
