Study reveals online gambling led to *fewer* gambling problems
A report released by the British government's Gambling Commission today reveals that problem gambling has not increased over the last eight years, despite widespread speculation to the contrary.
In fact, there may be fewer problems today than before gambling was legalized in Great Britain on the Internet.
The British Gambling Prevalence Survey is a large-scale nationally representative survey of participation in gambling and the prevalence of problem gambling in Great Britain. The first B

In the ongoing quick picks discussions...
Most of those who play their own numbers DO NOT pick their own numbers according to a SOUND system or method based on the game's statistics, that is based on the statistics of the numbers and their patterns.
That means that most people who play their own numbers ARE NOT increasing their chances of winning, their own numbers are just as good as quick picks and have just about the same chance of winning.
On a jackpot kind of game the odds againt the players are just too high for even good

Quick Picks can't match the power of Self Picks
There are some people who just don't get it and then there are Some People Who Just Don't Get It.
The odds and equal probability of each combination is not in question and the probability of each combination for both Self Picks and Quick Picks are the same on a combinatorial basis, only.
Also, the proportion of separate sales and wins for the respective play types is not the problem.
Herein lay the problem, it's when Quick Picks are compared to Self Picks.
It reminds me of the snotty

Lotto fever isn't what it used to be
What a TERRIBLE and MEAN spirited article this is against the California Lottery! Why was California the only state focused on for the $330 million Mega Millions game out of the 12 states that sell tickets? Everyone that was interviewed in this article appears to hate the California lottery. You call this unbiased reporting? What a bunch of you know what!
This is just more political fallout because of the privatization debate in California where Schwarzenegger wants to sell out the Lottery to

Former Indiana Lottery Director cleared of ethics charges
Inspector general finds that sponsoring GOP women's event wasn't an ethical violation
The Hoosier Lottery inappropriately sponsored a luncheon for Republican women during the tenure of its former director, but neither that nor other actions rose to the level of ethics violations, the state's inspector general said.
The findings essentially cleared former lottery Director Esther Schneider of allegations of cronyism, improper expenditures and other charges raised in an anonymous letter s

Hoosier Lottery
The Cash Value of the Hoosier Lottery is exactly 40%. The information posted in the question and answer section which states it is between 40% to 50% is WRONG!
Former Executive Director Esther Q. Schneider changed it to exactly 40% at the same time she extended the annuity to 30 years (without increasing the annuity prize value) and when she eliminated the first rollover increase. (i.e When the Hoosier Lottery Lotto game is reset to it's base prize...if no one wins it on the first draw the

Scholarships hit by S.C. Lottery downturn
As revenue declines, grants could cover less of rising in-state tuition
Declining revenues from the S.C. lottery and increasing demand for the scholarships it provides means students could see their tuition grants drop.
It's already happened in Georgia, where tighter standards for winning lottery-funded scholarships have cost 18,000 students once-free rides.
Some day, we will have to cap the cost, S.C. Senate Finance Chairman Hugh Leatherman said. The general fund cannot afford to ha

Hoosier Lottery
Guru,
I am on a mission! A mission to expose what I believe is a crooked and corrupt lottery. i.e The Hoosier Lottery.
As to sales figures and payout information...well I don't think a cirizen of this state should have to go undercover and plant bugs to get information that is suppossed to be in the public domain. Besides...as I am not a law enforcement agent but am instead just a common citizen I really don't want to go to jail for bugging or infiltrating Hoosier Lottery's Headquarters

Hoosier Lottery
Hey Jeff,
<>I wrote about this a couple of weeks ago. The Hoosier Lottery has not been won for over 9 months now...since October 17, 2006! Eighty (80!) draws on a straight 6/48 game and no jackpot winner!
<><>This is unbelievable to me. A straight Pick 6 game...drawn twice a week...and not one single winner in almost 10 months! One possible explanation is that sales are so pathetic that this is just the natural results of low sales. Of course the Hoosier Lottery wi

How to Be Lucky
I would suggest this.....
First off start making a list of all the goods things that happen in your life on a daily basis....
IE you meet a cool person write that down.
you find a penny write that down.
you win 5 or 10 dollars or even a free ticket in the lottery write that down.
Your child gets a really good grade in school write that down.
that is a step in showing a conscious gratitude to God, The Universe, The Source whatever is in your belief system. You show gra
