Purchase a multi-destination airplane ticket to visit say California (MM, CASL), Washington DC (PB, Hot Lotto), and because these state lotto jackpots are in the territory of typical MM/PB jackpots, NYC (New York Lotto) and Indianapolis (Hoosier Lotto). Purchase max in advance plays at each destination. Or get a job that has you traveling to multiple states that sell the above lottery tickets (hello all you OTR truck drivers!). My favs are Powerball and Mega Millions...I like games that even if you happen to win the second tier prize, you can do something substantial with the winnings. But I also like the state lottery games when the jackpots are a bit bigger (meaning if one won and took the cash value, the net winnings would still be over $1M). That is why I wish I still lived in California, southeastern Oklahoma (drive down into Texas) or Florida. But the current Mega Bucks and Hoosier lotto jackpots are still goo

I don't know if any government run game is paying close attention to sales. In WA state sales for Mega doesn't start going up until the pot breaks 150 million or more. We still have the same crummy 6/49 game with very small jackpots. I'd rather see a larger pacific northwest game including Idaho and Oregon then our anemic Lotto. They recently lowered the odds on our pick 5 game. It was a 5/52 game with decent jackpots and now is a 5/39 game no one buys.

For Nevada to join Powerball (or Mega) (if they do) in and of itself, won't make a big difference other than sometimes the winner will be from Nevada. You'd have more money added but more sets of numbers in play but it would approximately balance out... but jackpots would be won slightly more often making it harder to get to the really big levels and that might cause Powerball (or Mega) to add more numbers, and I'd rather they left the matrix alone so that the overall odds stayed the same (espec
