Record Jackpots excluding current Mega
Besides all the bad stuff for which he's become infamous, Jack also did a lot of good, including sharing a big chunk of his winnings. Whether it's an official pool or not, I expect that almost all jackpots of this size get split up a bit. What the entity that wins chooses to do with the money doesn't really count for much when we're looking at jackpot records. Most of the big jackpots have been claimed on a single ticket, and even if it rolls another time or two that's the probable outcome* f

Powerball or MegaMillions which will grow to 300+million
While you may not care about the jackpot amount most people do judging from sales. I don't think it will hit $300 thought. I have had far to much disapointment from Mega never going anywhere to get excited about it anymore. I can say if it did hit 300 the sales would be the highest in it's history judging from the pent-up demand for high jackpots and the long history of low jackpots that Mega has had.

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
I always look forward to your predictions. Just curious if you would do a spread as the jackpots get higher. A low-high estimates for a spread. I think the jackpot would go 217-265(or 270)-315 assuming it rolls at all. Sales seem very high (on level with pre-matrix 2004 levels) as the game grows due to the dearth of large jackpots recently.

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
Just because someone here doesn't understand the odds doesn't mean that most players don't understand. I think more than half of the players have a good idea want the odds mean, but almost everyone knows that when they hear that the odds are going to be raised that it means they are going to have less of a chance of winning. I know my wife doesn't consider the odds, but I am the one that buys the tickets. I think that maybe 25% of the regular players don't care about the odds, another 25% don

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
The fever starts when the jackpot gets a lot of media coverage. The media coverage starts either because the jackpot is a record or because other news is quiet. Record jackpots are hard to come by because there are more players and thus more often winners before it gets there. The jackpots on multi state games still seem to go up at the same rate so I think this lull at the multi-state level is at least partly an illusion. The slowdown is really in State Lotto sales because States that joine
