Winner without a face!
They typically don't allow you to remain 100% anonymous. It's the only way a lottery system can prove to the public that the director's daughter isn't winning each time. All the TV and stuff is not required. In fact, the only requirement is a press statement/conference (in most states). Whenever you see someone on TV it's usually because they want the publicity.

Winner without a face!
Just wondering if the winner of the big game or any otherlottery can keep their names anonymous. If your name and state have to be disclosed, does anyone think they will at least let you skip the public announcement with the pictures and news media and the big check ..LOL..LOL

To be or not to be?
Well, you can't remain completely anonymous. It's the only way the lottery can prove to the public that they're legit. But she's getting too much publicity too early. She doesn't even have her money yet. Publicity is good sometimes, but not in this case it's not.

To be or not to be?
Hi everyone,I was wondering if you win the jackpot like Erica Greene would you have the option of remaining anonymous or is that public information? Could you change your name and not be affected by receiving your earnings?

Big Game can claim annonymously?
I have read stories published by the Maryland Lottery in which the winner was able to keep their identity anonymous. I don't know if it's an official policy, however. I don't believe any of the other Big Game states have the ability to keep your identity private.-Todd

Big Game can claim annonymously?
Some states will allow you to stay anonymous, while others (most) require public disclosure of your name and city of residence. The reason they require disclosure is that state lotteries attempt to show the highest degree of ethics and fairness by proving that they are not fixing the lottery. People can't claim that the lottery director's uncle is winning all the money when the winner is clearly identified.-Todd
