$400 million jackpot
But it was won by a group and not a single player. Whittaker is still the single record holder. But clearly your point is well taken. It is theoretically possible for a single player to beat Jack's record. Hopefully they also won't beat his records for irresponsibility as well.

$400 million jackpot
Quote: Originally posted by dvdiva on May 17, 2006Looks like the Megamillions curse of low prizes continues. Powerball sales might go up a little since the competition is out. The cap now would give 171.6 cash or 111 after federal tax. That stinks that rising interest rates will make the cash jackpot of a new Powerball annuity record lower than

Mega Draw
I'm also curious about how to play. The BC site isn't very helpfull. I know you get 3 plays for $2CN but can you choose the numbers for the play? There are no pictures of what the BC playslips look like. Also it looks like some provences let you choose all three and some give 2 quickpicks. Just wondering about BC retail since their website just is geared towards selling tickets online. Also the record for super 7 was 37 million and in two weeks it would hit a record 40. I'm just wondering if

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
This is a function of interest rates most likely and nothing else. As determined from sales, the funded cash value as determined from actual sales (I don't track predicted cash amounts) of the second draw in the last run was $12.1M. According to the MA website, the predicted cash value here is almost $1M less, $11.3M. Unless the MM sells more tickets than expected, there will be no second draw value record. Sales on the first draw were lower than the sales on the first draw of the la

13 State Employees to Share $224 Million Powerball Lottery Jackpot
Sincere Congratulations ...to the employees who won Pools are nice and we've witnessed several pools pay off, but overall, I'd rather buy my tickets alone. Eleven contributing a total of $55 plus two adding another $5; the other recent pool win played $40 at the record jackpot level. So at that unique moment when the jackpot reaches a specific level, such as a record level, any one of us can adequately 'compete' individually with the typical pool. As mentioned previously, and lookin

One $220M Powerball winner in Missouri
I am very happy that somebody finally won. But you can bet besides Just6ntic there's some sad faces at Powerball headquarters this morning becase winneres are bad for the game. A winner means no rollover. No rollover means no record. And no record means no bonuses for Powerball execs. Bummer! Jim

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increases to $31 million
Here's an idea. Since you want to claim your winnings as soon as the last ball is drawn and I'm willing to wait a month or so while I get squared away. You can have the record jackpot in late April, but you have to loan me 100 grand. I'll pay you back 2 months later, along with 3% interest, when I collect my record jackpot in early July. I've always thought it would be fitting to win on Independence Day, anyway. BTW, there's something else we agree on. Maybe a couple of things, depending on

Powerball to roll 2 faster !
Hi, I believe that Powerball is going to roll 2 times faster than the last Powerball that ended up being a record on the 19th drawing on Feb 18, 2006. Lottery sales in the months of February and March are much higher than other times of the year. With this being said.... I believe this Powerball will roll until APRIL 19, 2006, which is the 17th drawing, and it will be another RECORD Jackpot. It should be in the $365M to $390M range. Any thoughts on this?

NJ Cash 5 - How much closer can you get?
This may sound like a broken record by now (for those of you who remember what a record is!), but yet another close encounter with the NJ Cash last night. The winning numbers last night were: 6, 12, 33, 34, 37. My line had 6, 12, 33, 34, 35. Too close!! That's not the main purpose of this thread however. I'm still getting used to Gail Howard's software, in this case the Wheel 5 Plus. There is a function call optimize which moves the numbers around in the wheel such that it optimizes

Maryland Lottery breaks weekly sales record
The Maryland Lottery broke several records last week, bringing in nearly $35 million in sales. Scratch-off sales exceeded $11 million for the first time in the Lottery's history, while Pick 4 had a record-breaking sales week of almost $5 million. Players also benefited from huge payouts in Pick 3 and Pick 4. And, Keno and Keno Bonus brought in a hefty $9.3 million in combined sales. The $35 million week was the Lottery's third best sales week ever. Only two other sales weeks proved bette
