Happy Holidays! Tickets in Texas?
I'm fairly certain that I've seen it in the Kroger vending machine down the street but I can't be certain. I'll make a point of looking for it the next time I go out to purchase a ticket. Have you asked them when they receive their shipments? It's always useful to figure out what their procedures are. I'm tempted to follow the delivery back to the warehouse to see where the tickets come from. I know that I've had to expand my search for Super Set For Life tickets several times as many of the

Man wins $100,000 in one Pick 4 drawing
He may need that winng if his superiors find that he probably purchased his tickets while on the clock'...........I see mail delivery trucks at my local gas station all the time........and the person in the post office uniform is at the lottery machine. I wish he hadn't given his name. Congratulations to him on his win........makes me remember the widow from Pontiac that played her late Husbands birthday and won 87K on her 4 digit pick............cool stuff! might be a better bet than a $2

Lottery vending machines coming to Arkansas
The machines will dispense draw game and scratch-off tickets and pay out winnings of up to $500 with vouchers that can be used in retail stores. I don't know about that...Arkansas funny money vouchers? Razorback Bucks? Will they require retailers to take the vouchers in lieu of cash? Or did he mean that the machines will issue vouchers which can be then cashed at a lottery retailer? Either way, I don't know if I want a machine cashing my ticket.

Would you check your numbers before you let a store clerk check for you
Yeah, I've used those scanners in Illinois and Kentucky before (half the time they didn't work, lol) but what I would like to see is a machine that also gives you a voucher for your winnings so there's absolutely no doubt about proving what you've won or any opportunity for malicious clerks to rip anybody off. The machine could give you the voucher and a copy for your records. As it stands now, intelligent people can circumvent being ripped off but there are always some people who will fall p

Can I get some help with online lottery tax info
The problem here is you don't understand what casual gambler and gambling winnings means. We are required to report all our income including gambling winnings for the taxable year and the definition of a taxable year is between January 1 and December 31. I can't find where it says to report that free ticket I cashed on August 17, February 2, July 10, or any other day of the year. With over 2 months to go in the taxable year 2009, it's impossible for anyone to now accurately report gambling winni

Can I get some help with online lottery tax info
If I buy $2000 worth of a stock and sold it for $2500, I'd have a taxable income of $500. If I sold the same stock for $1200, I'd have a $800 loss and no taxable income. The paper worth of stock fluctuates the same as credits on a slot machine and the determine factor of profit or loss is the amount you sell or cash out for. If I buy $2000 worth of scratch-off tickets, I'm out $2000 before I scratch the first ticket and won't know my winnings or losses until I scratch the last ticket. Cashing

Why do the folks in the East always seem to win??
From the Powerball website FAQ page: HOW COME THE ONLY JACKPOT WINNERS ARE FROM THE [EAST - WEST - NORTH - SOUTH - CITIES - RURAL AREAS]? There really is nowhite/black/old/young/rich/poor, etc.] button on the machine. If onedraws a box around some group of players (eg., state border, haircolor, shoe size), then that gr

Lottery heartbreak: Florida man says he lost $500,000 ticket
Umm ohh dear...time to take your meds then. You forgot. Seriously learn empathy and logic. It will serve you well in life. Another poster is correct that the payout could be delayed til after the game ends to ensure no one else attempts to claim it. Once the Claim ticket has been dispensed the Machine will not allow another person to -reclaim it . This will be interesteing to follow.
