Anonymity for this huge jackpot. Let's settle this right here and now.
Nope, sorry. I don't agree with mandating someone's identity be made public. The whole situation with Tipton didn't happen because the state was required to release an identity to the public, it happened because the lawyer trying to make the claim was an idiot. The same questions are asked as routine in anonymous and non-anonymous states. The fact that he couldn't provide answers to any of the security questions (over the phone, btw) is what tripped this up. Then when he tried again but with

Winning Powerball lottery ticket worth $310 million sold in Michigan
Michigan residents who win multi-state lotteries could remain anonymous under a bill moving through the Legislature. The state House approved the bill 103-7 Tuesday. The bill would allow winners of multi-state games such as Mega Millions, Powerball and Lucky for Life to remain anonymous. Bill sponsor Rep. Ray Franz says the measure is needed to protect people who win large amounts of money and then are barraged with requests for financial help or face pressure to leave their jobs even i

The lucky ticket-holder has opted to remain anonymous
US STATE LOTTERIES COULD LEARN A LOT FROM THE UK As well as being a time of extreme excitement and happiness, suddenly winning a substantial sum of money can be an overwhelming and emotional experience for many people but support from Camelot begins as soon as a winner makes a claim on a prize. For UK National Lottery prizes over 50,000, our player services team is able to pay them in the comfort of their own home, or alternatively they can choose to have their prize validated at

Special Circumstance Anonymity Protection?
Okay, so recently we've seen two instances where a person was allowed to remain anonymous when the rules say you're identity must be revealed. One was in the U.S. and one was Canada (I think...can't really remember off the top of my head). I also know that at least one LP member has posted that they've contacted a lawyer specializing in windfalls/lottery wins to pose hypothetical questions of what to do in the event of a win. Considering those factors I hope someone will be able to answer thi

Setting Up a Blind Trust
A blind trust is essentially a deed that describes an agreement that falls under the category of irrevocable living trusts. As in other trusts, there is trust grantor, a trustee or administrator, and a beneficiary. When blind trusts are constructed for purposes other than to manage lottery winnings, the beneficiary is not be able to access the assets held by the trust. Some state lotteries encourage jackpot winners to deposit their prize money into a trust, though not necessarily a blind

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
The good news: If I win, am I allowed to remain anonymous? Yes, Delaware State law allows all Delaware Lottery winners to remain anonymous. The bad news: Do you offer Lottery subscriptions? At this time, the Delaware Lottery does not offer this service. FAQ Delaware Lottery

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
US State Lotteries should learn from other lotteries around the world: For UK National Lottery prizes over 50,000, our player services team is able to pay them in the comfort of their own home, or alternatively they can choose to have their prize validated at one of our prize payout centres. For winners over 500,000, a private banking representative can visit them at home to discuss additional services on offer to winners with new-found wealth. We also arrange for a panel of independe

Announcing Winners to the public?
There are 6 states that explicitly allow anonymous lottery claims: Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, South Carolina, Kansas and North Dakota. But a winner can also claim anonymously in many other states by claiming as a Trust or LLC.(a few states such as VA and OR disallow that though) Then the only one facing the publicity is the lawyer, and the Trust/LLC name is the published winner. A quick search for Indiana provides some examples: https://www.lotterypost.com/news/243204 https://www.lottery

Lottery Bible ~ Large Print
Back in May or June, I mentioned that I would post a LB tip that I received. The sender asks to remain anonynous and has given permission to post. Thanks, Anonymous! Sent: February 21, 2013, 3:08 pm Eastern Time Hey Harvest! I have found that if you research the last number, you will find the next number to hit, a lot of times straight. The key is to go up and down one number after you find the last number that hit. Look at PA midday, 579. If you research that number, y

$400 million S.C. Powerball winner to stay anonymous
This story does not match up with what I was stating... The only states that appear to allow their lottery to keep a winner s identity secret are Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota and Ohio, according to the site. Arizona is not listed here!!! This man tried to stay anonymous in a state that doesn't allow it. Has anyone been outed from the anonymous states listed above? I still have not heard of that...
