Pennsylvania will not privatize lottery
Heres the truth behind this entire transaction (deal).By creating a private venture, the state can then change some rules, the biggest one being... State tax the winnings. We are currently one of the few states with exempt status. Yup a whopping deal of 36 billion to the commonwealth along with 6 percent or more from the players on winning claims. It would have been a backdoor way to pull a fast one on the players. It will happen , they will just find another way to cut a deal in the future deal

BIG PB JP makes "people" ANAL o!o
I think the smartest thing to do is to cut down hard if you cannot abandon the MM game completely. Cash 5 and 6/49 games are looking extra good to me right now.
The people who run MM are just greedy. When you spend $1 on MM, they cut it this way. About 60 goes to prize winners; 15 to retailers, marketing and operations; and 25 goes back to the states for government services. Goodluck psykomo if you continue playing.

Democrats take aim at bid to privatize Pa. lottery
Given the chance, I don't think they would be interested in the poorly run operations unless they could have full control.
and that would not be a good thing for the players.

GTECH picked to run Indiana Lottery
The Hoosier Lottery board voted Wednesday to hire a private company to oversee sales, marketing and other operations with the goal of earning the state about $2.1 billion in additional revenue through 2028.
The board chose Rhode Island-based GTECH which provides similar services to the Illinois lottery and provides some computerized game services in Kentucky at the recommendation of Hoosier Lottery officials, who conducted an expansive review of the two companies vying for the 15-year contrac

Could We Use Another Big Game Lottery??
The hypocrisy is seen in the fact that the states are offering gambling in the first place.
Since when are the states in the business of running for profit operations?

Bell Helicopter employees win $28 million lottery jackpot
Congrats to the winners. I was playin' that game myself.
OTOH, their employer may take exception to the calling in sick and then going public like they did, especially if it shut or slowed down operations in a large manufacturing plant. I don't think their employer would take kindly to their customers fining them for late product because a large group of people in the same department decided to all call in sick and go collect lottery winnngs. Just looking at reality....

Court settles estate of Vancouver man who ran lottery ticket reselling firm
Almost four years after his death, the $20 million estate of Vancouver businessman Randy Thiemer has finally been wrapped up in court.
Thiemer started a company named Can Win, which resold Canadian lottery tickets to foreigners.
He got the idea after seeing an ad in a Vancouver newspaper offering Irish Sweepstakes tickets.
It started at his kitchen table and progressed to a $100-million-a-year business, recalled Vito Nardulli, who worked for almost 25 years for Thiemer and was former v

Florida Lottery education spending investigated
The sad part of all this is that lottery money has been used, especially the past 10-15 years, as 'in lieu of' funding for schools. That means taxes are cut, or funding to schools decreased, in the amount (sometimes less as here in Virginia) transfered from lottery 'aid'. One big reason nearly every state does this is to get out of a having to pay for schools with increased tax rates as are really needed to fund them. A recent study showed that every state that funds schools with lottery proceed

Ticket Checkers
I will use them occasionally to double-check a ticket. They are nice to have, especially in light of the expos on Lottery Clerk fraud they keep showing on Dateline NBC.
But I myself would never run into that situation they pose in the sting operations. I always know what the value of my ticket is before cashing it in. And the calottery.com replay entry is a good double check in addition to your own. I also don't play crossword/bingo type games because they take too long to determine if you ar
