Pennsylvania Lottery retailer machines
I look at the way the self-serve machines pay out tickets, and I look at it as the lottery trying to encourage people to gamble compulsively, especially with big winners. They really should be able to pay out in cash.
Another thing I hate about self-serve machines in Pennsylvania is that the tickets look different when printed from a self-serve machine, and I've had people refuse to cash in a ticket, thinking that it was fake.
I can understand the convenience, but it can be an inconvenienc

I Won A $86Million Annuity
It has been my experience that the modern version of the golden rule ... what goes around, comes around ... is very apt. What one sends out into the world in terms of attitude, energy, personal emotional ambiance is what one generally gets back ... and even when the other person is being difficult one can often change their reactions with kindness.
As it applies to winning a lottery jackpot ... I've sent alot of $$ out into the world, helped a lot of people figure out how to use the lo

Do you tip your cashier when you win?
I like that link Four4me.
I travel alot and I don't mind tipping people but it looks like I tip too much. As far as a store clerk goes , I don't tip them because they have only inserted a play slip in a machine and gave me the tickets. They didn't help me choose any numbers nor did they pay for any of them. I don't play the same numbers in pick 3 so they are more than welcome to play off of my slip when I leave it or ask if the would throw it away. One store clerk seen I had a 500 dollars win

Twenty minutes later and five miles down the road...
Well personally I thought it was weird and still do.
It was as if the lotto machine that spits out the tickets read the ticket in my pocklet and then gave me the second one.
A couple of years ago, I played a QP in the same place in a neighboring town two days in a row, and those two tickets were identical except for one number- and that was only off by one digit. I thought that was weird, too.

can it make a difference when, where you buy a qp
There is a store in Vancouver Wa that has sold the most winning lottery tickets of any store in the state - 7 of them including a MM jackpot. Now the explanation for that is the store is the closest one to Oregon so lots of Oregonians drive across the river to buy their tickets there. Well that is true but there are other stores selling tickets very close by and this particular store is (with apologies to the very nice folks who work there) really a dump - grungy, falling apart at the seams, loc

Lottery ticket location
When Ohio had their three MM jackpots in a row one was bought at a Kroger, can't remember if it was the 267/270 million dollar one or the 265 at the moment. Of course there's more winners at these little party stores because I'm willing to bet they sell a lot more tickets than larger stores where people are typically there to do their grocery shopping, unless it's right up front at the service counter or where a lot of people will see it they probably won't do much business and leave where as pe

Tipping The Clerk
I've never posted a dream if I recall correctly, but I had the strangest dream on Sunday morning. It might only mean I've spent too much time on this board lately, but here it is.
I finally hit the Florida Lotto and paid $2 for the ticket, so I got the $10M bonus, winning $16M. The details have faded, but this is what I remember. I noticed when I purchased my ticket that the clerk was tired, so I decided to really surprise her by giving her a $10,000 tip. I wrote a check (can't carry that kin

Automated Machines- the hazard
As a faithful beleiver that technology is the wave of today, I chose to use one of the automated machines to buy my lottery tickets. Waiting in line behind a guy who spews out 80 numbers in certain order is not my cup of tea. So over I go to the machine, place in my well earned 20$ and start playing my numbers. THe first 5$ batch comes out fine. I decide to get my second 5$ mix of tickets and the dispenser jams. I patiently wait for the cashier to find the keys that are somewhere on property. Sh
