State, gambling foes argue about California joining Mega Millions
Attorneys for an antigambling group told a judge Friday that the hugely popular Mega Millions lottery game is illegal because it is not run solely by the state, violating the intent of the 1984 voter initiative authorizing California's lottery.State officials countered that the 12-state Mega Millions game is just like any other state lottery game. California retains control over the administration of Mega Millions within the state, including how and where tickets are sold, Deputy Attorney Genera

what isyour strategy?
Since all lotteries use only about 50% of their sales money for prizes, none of them would ever go bankrupt, but if the winning combinations could be predicted easily there would fewer big jackpots and fewer lottery millionaires. Of course lotteries keep increasing their odds as more people win to keep the jackpots large enough to be attractive. If anyone actually thought they had won big with their system, they probably would not brag about it until they had won a few more times. The only syst

Maryland Lottery to end Lotto game
The only problem I have with these Match-6 type games is that the jackpots seem to have a difficult time increasing due to the fact that so many secondary prizes are payed out.For people like me, we play for the jackpot, not the secondary prizes. Personally, I wish they would just stay with the classic Pick-6 games, and keep the matrix somewhere between 42 and 49 numbers. The goal of many people is to win a jackpot of at least a million dollars, which would be roughly an annuity of between $2.5

Record Jackpot - $448 Million
The only way they could get a combined total of $1 billion is if MM gets to at least $600 million, because Powerball slows the growth of its record jackpots.

Texas Lottery to change Lotto game back to 6/54 format
Even with the scandal over inflated jackpots, I would return to playing Lotto TX if they drop the bonus ball. Yes the jackpots are small and grow slowly but $4 million is nothing to sneeze at.Agree. I don't live in TX but I play the Lotto here in FL whether it's $3M or $40M. I know the odds are high, but adding numbers or a powerball only makes the jackpot more unattainable. I was disappointed when they changed from 6/49. Most of the time there's only one winner anyway. Tonight one person won

Texas Lottery to change Lotto game back to 6/54 format
Actually, Lotto TX did lose a lot of players just because of the switch to the bonus ball, myself among them. Add to that the addition of MegaMillions, and the number of players dropped even more.Even with the scandal over inflated jackpots, I would return to playing Lotto TX if they drop the bonus ball. Yes the jackpots are small and grow slowly but $4 million is nothing to sneeze at.My work pool plays MM no matter how much the jackpot is. Even when Lotto TX is more than MM (I think that's o

Lotto South- Potential New Draw Days
Thanks for the info., CASH Only. I've only been playing the lottery for a few years, so I wasn't sure what Georgia used to have before Lotto South.I googled Lotto Georgia to see what it was like, and it appears that it was a pretty good game. It started at $2 million, similar to Lotto South, but the odds of winning were about 1 in 7 million (Lotto South's odds are double, at roughly 1 in 14 million). For the draws that I saw, the jackpot rolled over $1 million each time, which, again, is the
