Lottery Codes on Instant Tickets
The ticket is an obvious fake...and a really bad one as well. All NY instant games only have 3 validation codes for all prize levels (including top prizes). There is no such thing as a 4-letter validation code on any NY instant ticket. This person obviously didn't know this fact and thought that if they just attached two tickets...one half, which contained the winning number, and the other, containing the matching number w/ prize, they would be set.
In addition, all NY instant tickets altern

Hoosier Raffle
Perhaps the lottery ticket printing machine they are using to pick the winners ran out of paper or ink and they had to run to Staples to get more.
Any of the numbers in question above the 140K they sold?
(Wow, two shots in one post. Todd should have a rule against this or something.)

can someone here post me an example of a fake RNG lottery drawing?
You're 100% right that the true process should be open to inspection. When you confidently watch the balls mixing in the machine how do you know that they're really the same size and weight, and that nobody has tampered with something in an effort to skew the likely outcome? When somebody comes forard to claim a $50 million MM or PB jackpot how do oyu know the ticket wasn't printed after the drawing? Is it possible to write a program that superficially resembles an RNG but can return a result

Ripped off at the store ?
More inept clerks at 7-11.
Earlier today I went into a 7-11 to get my free QP from a Fantasy five game win from last night's draw and handed the ticket, along with my betslips. He came back after a long period of time and said that because of the heavy clouds and downpour, the terminal was not responding.
I took my ticket and my betslip. A few hours later, on my way home, I stopped in at the liquor store to get my free QP, and the girl told me that the ticket was already run through the ma

DF dizzy, too much repeating
Just read SS's post on dog numbers - last thought after I played and before her post was I should have played 440 - didn't know where that came from but now I do. I'd played it recently with 400 too.
Within last week or so got 4781 QP and a day or so ago got it again and today it fell in MD. My recent 711 QP lingers.
I've stayed with 117/177/788/781. Last night, played my tickets including all those aforementioned and was getting ready to leave but stood ther

Paranoid or Prudent?
Amen ! I totally agree Todd, I have sat in on too many lottery draws to know that nothing but luck alone can make a ticket a winner. It's what gets me angst all the time, hearing people who think there are spies or an infiltrator trying to purposely overthrow the draw. :) It's the ODDS only that are against you, nothing else. Although you can improve your chances with a system, you always have a bunch of other numbers in the way of it.
I often get asked if I am a lottery official a

Ripped off at the store ?
It is possible. You may want to contact the lottery office and express your concern about this possibility. If the clerk re-ran the play card a second time (keeping the first one if it was an EZ Match winner), they can track that, especially if you still have the original ticket.
It could also be the clerk was unfamiliar with the machine or the machine was down temporarily.
Lottery officials are interested in possible cases of shady retailers and they can take action if necessary.

People in front of you dictating lots of numbers to the clerk...
with you, Mr. Harvick !
The store that I go to has 2 cash registers , so the guy with 25 or 30 playslips can be there for a while, but the other problem is there is only one green machine, so if someone in the other line needs a ticket, then everything at the store comes to a screeching halt.
Throw in the cash gas buyer that comes in and doesn't even get in line, but throws a $20 at the clerk and spouts off a pump number, then we have a recipe for confusion and increased stress .

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
I don't think there is a predetermined number of combo's to be sold through all terminals. I think each machine generates its own numbers and reports them back to a central computer along with the serial number and time stamp of each individual ticket. Do I know this for sure? Nope. But for some logical reason, that is probably how it is done.
I played 5 of my own numbers and then played 5 QP's following that and the numbers in the QP's were loaded with the numbers I picked on my own.

When does a lottery game become a legal scam?
a- When they raise the price of a lottery ticket to $2.00.
b- When they expand the number field while lowering lower-tiered prizes.
c- When they enlist a grass roots marketing machine to get everyone excited over a jackpot of $10,000.
d- All of the above!
