New Jersey lottery winner claims $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot
Might Mr/Ms anonymous lottery winner have at least in part waited this long to claim their ticket precisely because their story may get pushed back in the news cycle ... ie Friday before Christmas and also the fact that their is a current mega jackpot waiting to be won?
Just my $.03 on the topic.

Tipping clerks after a lottery win.
I actually don't think this is a paranoid list, rather a pragmatic one.
And wow that clerk is pretty entitled. I don't know how claims for scratch-off tickets work but for a prize that big I would've done it anonymous if I can.

Powerball
NJ started allowing winers to remain anonymous 4 years ago. If I lived where you live, I'd make the drive over the state line to get my PB and MM tix. That's just me.
What's the deal with the woman at the pharmacy? She told you the lottery is random and you told her it's rigged? Fascinating.

Powerball
my dog used to work at a strip club called lottery lottery. their motto was good things come in twos. he got fired for sniffing butts and telling people you smell ruff.
i always wondered how many of the anonymous winners coming out of maryland were actually dc residents.

D.C. postal worker plans to retire after 30 years with USPS thanks to $1 million lottery prize
D.C. resident loves crossing state lines to play Maryland Lottery
Of course, Maryland lets winners remain anonymous and D.C. doesn't. Congrats to the mystery mailman!

Illinois woman "blessed" by $1 million lottery win has already given away $100,000
Illinois is an anonymous lottery state for prizes over $250,000. Hope her need for attention doesn't end badly.
Congratulations on the win.

$180 million Powerball winners embroiled in court battle after losing $20M to financial advisor
US state lotteries should do more to offer independent, professional financial and legal advice to winners. The UK National Lottery is a great role model for American state lotteries to follow.
Another aspect of this is the issue of anonymity. When people win large sums and are then catapulted into the limelight, it is put enormous pressure on the winners. Some states do now allow winners to remain anonymous, all other states should follow.

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
He chose anonymity and is still anonymous. The issue is that he told his baby mama and thought that an NDA would be enough to keep his win confidential from family he didn't want knowing. He also should have had everyone he planned to give money to sign an NDA.
But still, point taken. If even with anonymity you can have this many headaches then no anonymity is an even greater detriment.

Winning Is A Lifestyle
Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me. Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime. Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt
