Did thousands of B.C. Lottery players throw away winning tickets?
Thousands of disappointed B.C. lottery players were confronted by full-page newspaper ads yesterday suggesting they may have been robbed of past winnings. While discovering they didn't win Wednesday's $38 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot, they also learned they could have held winning tickets for lotteries between Feb. 8 and March 30 and been told they were not winners. A consumer advisory said a software update to the Internet Number Checker inadvertently prevented draw results from being prese

What I am trying to say is don't give them ANY info. These scam artists are VERY resourceful and WILL find out your other info. You don't need

Mexican Lotteries
Mexican Government use the excuse of kidnappings and murders to avoid giving away the names of the winners (or so called winners). In January, TELEVISA, (the monopolistic TV Network) got its own lottery. The government allowed TELEVISA to have a lottery, in exchange for help in the fraud made in last year's presidential elections. Mexican media have a very unethical advertising for lotteries. TV ads examples: A man asks his children about their plans for the fut

U.S. Settles BetOnSports Online-Gambling Civil Case
A federal prosecutor reached a settlement Thursday with online gambling company BetOnSports PLC that permanently bars the London-based company from accepting any bets from the United States. The lawsuit has been closely watched by the online gambling industry, which generates about $6 billion annually in the United States. The settlement ends a massive civil case U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway filed this summer. It does not effect a criminal case still pending against several BetOnSpor

First N.C. lottery chairman Sanders resigns
The first chairman of the North Carolina lottery commission resigned Tuesday after a year on the job that began tumultuously and ended up with ticket sales of more than $400 million. During his tenure, Charles Sanders helped create the North Carolina lottery from scratch, handled ethics questions surrounding the approval of the games and watched three other commissioners give up their seats. Gov. Mike Easley appointed Sanders in September 2005 to a one-year term that expired Aug. 31. In a

Banks balk at plan to cut off cash from net casinos
A group representing 5,000 small banks is opposing a tool lawmakers hope to use to stop online gambling, posing a challenge to what is widely seen as the government's best shot at cracking down on the activity. The Independent Community Bankers of America, whose members range from New York's Metropolitan National Bank to Colorado's First National Bank of Las Animas, is objecting to a proposal winding its way through Congress that would require financial institutions to block payments between

Powerball Annuity Makes Good Sense
Oh this is classic! It'll come as no surprise to anyone that I think the Powerball annuity makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. But just for kicks let's take the points one by one: 1. It forces you to stick to a budget. Please refer to the story on Lottery Post about the family in Florida who was recently arrested for tax fraud. THEY took the annuity. 2. The kids and family will be well aware that there is an annual limit of funds. See the same story. 3. The annuity can be
