Lotteries only change games when people don't like them anymore. How do you tell that....sales. If sales are starting to slump they know they have to change it. The best model we have is the performance of the old mega millions game which reached $294M before it was won by a player in Massachusetts back on July 2, 2004. The last several jackpots in that run seem to track what is happening here: $155M, $177M, $220M $294M parentheses showing the last three, which would need to be beat this time. Ohio has constantly improved their SuperLotto game by making it worst. First is was two plays per dollar, starting jackpots of $4M, minimum rolls of $4M and 3of6 paid $3. Then they added some numbers and changed it to $1 per play. Then they limited the amount one ticket could win to $20M when they had bigger jackpots advertised. People started to play less so they added the bonus ball, got rid of the limit that one ticket could win, offered a free QP for a 3of6 win and got rid of minimum $4M
