What VALIDATE TICKET means?
Hi Derek,
If it is anything like Missouri you can get your ticket scanned to see if it is a winner without it being a problem. MO retailers are trained to scan ticket first to see if it is a winner. If so, and it is within the stores means to pay it then they hit the pay button and scan the ticket again. At this point, the ticket must be paid. If it is paid, the clerk is suppose to take the ticket and tear it up or put them in the draw and not leave it with the person that brought it in. That

why play the pick 4?
What four4me said. The odds say you'll hit a Pick 4 before you ever (if ever) hit five or six.
I worked in Vegas and we had a player who played $50 five-spot Keno tickets. He had "deep enough" pockets to play that way and at our particular casino, a five spot special paid $ 1000 on a dollar ticket, so when he won, his payoff was $50,000. And he won frequently.
His approach to it was he'd been playing Keno a long time and had never hit an 8-spot but had hit plenty of five spots, so he jus

Match 6 close
MATCH 6 lotto: 5, 19, 29, 36, 41, 49
Oddly enough my lowest ticket was the closest to a jackpot win. The first line, and numbers played via a regular ball draw with my custom made ball machine, and no eliminations. My numbers were 5, 22, 26, 29, 41, 48
That one was painful. Not sure which QP was close as well, might post it later though after I finish my analysis.

is lottery Fake?
I've wondered if when you play a set of numbers, OQ or not, if you're not in fact programming the machine that picks them not to pick that set!
Illinois has subscription tickets (play a set for up to a year, paid in advance, and thus far it's a ball drawing) and in over two years of getting e-mails that breakdown the winners, I think I've seen two subscription tickets hit - and that's on 5/39 Little Lotto.
So let's say Mega Millions was to go computerized. If you played a ticket before t

So you must be asking if the lottery really is random. After all, anything based soley on chance can't be predetermined. If the drawing is not computerized, then 1/2 of a second could change which balls are drawn, right? Look at the Olympics. Everytime somebody "l

I swear, Lottery retailers need training!
Unless a person has vision problems or a handicap that makes filling out a slip difficult, I don't see why the clerk should do it. I agree that many store employees are not properly trained and the reason Prisoner Six gave above is a good one. Even with experience, if you're new there's a lot to learn and customers aren't patient. But sometimes the employees are just being lazy. One time I either handed a cashier at the supermarket the same card or she ran it through twice, so I had 2 tickets wi

Iowa Powerball lottery winner recently filed for bankruptcy
Well I may be mistaken but what it actually said was that he read the sign and then remembered some lottery tickets he had. Now it is clear at this point that he didn't know he was the winner. The next line in the story said after the clerk shouted out the news the media began rushing in and he exited by a side door. I could be wrong but I took this to mean:1. He saw the banner proclaiming the store sold the winning ticket.2. He didn't know he was the winner but (I assume) he must have had the

SoCal man sues to get share of $315 million lottery jackpot
