Lottery ticket bought in Queens hits $133M Mega Millions jackpot
New York Lottery officials and a crew of convenience store workers are keeping their eyes peeled for the person holding a Mega Millions ticket worth $133 million.
No one has come to make a claim yet, said Dilip Patel, 35, who works at the Shiv Convenience Store on Hillside Ave. As far as I know it was a woman and she is really lucky.
There was only one ticket that matched all six numbers in Tuesday's drawing, officials said. The winning numbers were 25, 27, 35, 38, 39 and the Mega ball w

Scamming store owner loses lottery license
I never said my entire crew was in the gift shop.
I explained that the other day when I said: you want me to believe you and your crew (We were just looking at books) took breaks in the gift shop. On every Crap table I played, the dealers rotated, taking turns going on break. The card tables have break dealers and next time I'll ask if it's common for any dealer to take their break in the gift shop.
The last time I looked most Crap tables use four dealers with one on break, but you made

Man gives kids $6M lotto prize
Hector Rivera played the New Jersey Lottery for 20 years, promising any jackpot he won would go to his five children.Like most people who talk about winning a multimillion-dollar jackpot, Rivera was dismissed by his children as a dreamer. Nobody ever thought anything about it, said Michael Cioffi, Rivera's oldest son. We just thought he had a lot of fun dreaming about winning some day. Rivera's dream came true Oct. 13, when the Vineland man was the only winner to hit a $6.1 million Pick 6 jack

Australian grandmother wins lottery using late husband's numbers
Dedicated woman played the special numbers once a week for 20 years
By Kate Northrop
A woman was confused when a retailer told her that they wouldn't be able to pay out her winning ticket. As it turns out, the numbers she played every week for 20 years earned her a X Lotto top prize of $1 million (US$743,400).
The winning numbers a South Australian grandmother faithfully used to win the jackpot originally came from someone very near and dear to her.
My late husband chose those numbe

There are a lot of Patel's in this country
Patel is a common name in India like Smith, Jones, Brown, etc. Lots of stores all over the country are owned in operated by members of the Patel family and most of their stores have lottery terminals.
What gives ?
You answered your own question; I don't know which last name in the U.S. has won the most $1 million jackpots, but I'll bet it's a common name.

Keno players cash in on lottery glitch in Delaware
The luck has run out for some lottery winners in Delaware after state officials realized that a glitch meant the exact same winning numbers were drawn for six Keno games.
Sam Patel, owner of the Convenient Store in Wilmington, Delaware, says last week's glitch with the Keno Lottery game had business booming. He didn't realize something was wrong until a customer hit it big.
She was screaming again, 'Oh my God, oh my God. The same numbers are coming out again. Well, at that point she got m

Scamming store owner loses lottery license
We're not talking about that particular incident.
The story is about one store owner, Chang Cho losing their lottery license for scamming and you want to post unrelated links to articles about people named Patel.
We all get your point, but your links won't prove all store owners named Patel scam their customers; no more than links about cheating casino dealers proves all dealers are cheats.

Scamming store owner loses lottery license
PrinceRene,
We're not talking about that particular incident.
Noise-gate just made mention of 'Patel' and you went off on this tangent.
I'd post links to all the not-so-nice Patel articles but I'm sure no proof would sway your opinion.

Scamming store owner loses lottery license
I take it that you jumped to a conclusion about 'racist' when anyone mentions a Patel might be involved in a lottery scam. As I said, had you been around here and were more familiar with the News Forum threads about scams you would have been aware of the Patel factor.
You're not the only one who blindly made 'that's racist' remarks about this.
As far as a 'prediction' about the ethnicity of someone who committed a crime you obviously are not familiar with the experience 'factor' of l
