Job question: After winning a $100 Million jackpot, you would...
Justxploring
I think if you continue to work it would have to be doing something you really enjoy. I mean, George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg didn't stop directing just because they became millionaires. Jay Leno and David Letterman each make about $30 million a year and continue to work. Judge Judy makes about $29 million. What about Oprah Winfrey? Bob Barker just retired after 50 years of being the most popular game show host in history. (at least I think so!) Most of these celebriti

Everyone there are a more than a few ways to skin the cat so to speak. if you accept the annuity you must remember. It's out of the lotteries hands at that point they buy a bond to secure your winnings. Of course they make money. But so do you. The bond is set up to include any interest changes. And while it's up to you what you do with your checks you can buy insurance to cover medical costs. Take into considerations a trust. Hope that Bush signs the inherit

Taxes
What Happened?
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.
Tax his tractor,
tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.
Tax his car,
Tax his gas,

I need the experts to help me here.
I actually feel the better approach is to look at the chances as opposed to probability
Perspective and semantics can turn it into a very long discussion, but they're (extremely close to) the same thing. So, what would you do?
Nothing to do with slow news day. The issue isn't the facts, the issue is how the facts are marketed to make people take notice. The facts are that more than 60% of footballers, baseball and basketball players are broke or in serious financial problems within 5 years of retirement. But the headlines read: Most Athletes Go Broke Within 5 Years of Retirement usually peppered with photos of Antoine Walker and TO; as if the US only has 3 sports and that everyone in those sports were making 8 or 9 fi

Tax Avoidance on Big Win - IRA, Multi-Split?
Wondered from time to time, the best way to keep the IRS out of a big hit, if ever so lucky.
Common instruction tells you to sign the ticket, immediately... thus, setting you up solely for all the taxes.
Rather, wouldn't it be better to see an attorney, pronto, prior to signing? Perhaps one who specializes in preserving family wealth?
Would it not be better to have some group set up to split the ticket taxes - be it a family corporation, whatever? Having them on the win-front side might
