How much money is enough!?
I always play the lottery regardless of the jackpots because I enjoy winning something even if it not the jackpot. Earlier this year I matched 5 of 6 in the Ohio lottery for $1500 and that payout is the same regardless of the jackpot amount.Right now both Ohio SuperLotoPlus and MegaMillions jackpots are $10,000,000. The odds for SuperLotoPlus is 1:13,983,816 with an overall odds of winning at least $5 is 1:451 and the odds for MegaMillions is 1:135,145,920 with an overall odds of winning at le

Lottery Math
http://www.psn.net/xocxoc/math/rawdata.htmLottery MathIs it better to play 50 dollars one week, or one dollar for fifty weeks? The odds of a Lotto style lottery can be found with the formula: n! / (n - r)! r! where n is the highest numbered ball and r is the number of balls chosen. This is called in math a combination. An easier way to think about it is if there are 40 balls and 6 are chosen, there are 40 possible numbers that can come up first, leaving 39 that can come up second, then 38, 37,

About the "NEW" Big Game...
I read that article too, but things may not be as bad as all that. For example the odds of winning the jackpot in Biggame now is 1:76,275,360 and if 2 balls are added to the 36 golden balls the odds would change to 1:80,512,880 which is close to the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot (1:80,089,128). In spite of powerball higher odds, biggame has the highest recorded jackpot. It really depend on the lower prizes payout along with the odds that will make the game attractive. If the jackpot is o

$1 or $2 Scratchoffs with $50, $200 "Jackpots": Do you waste your money?
The lowest top prize of any current Georgia instant ticket is $100 on Quick $100, but there are 41,043 top prizes. The second lowest is Georgia Lottery Limited at $500 and it has 1809 top prizes. I would say generally no, avoid the lower priced tickets with smaller top prizes, but you might have a better chance at winning a certain dollar amount with each ticket. I will compare 8 tickets with top prizes ranging from $100 to $5,000,000. As a general rule, you will get better odds for every dollar

Odds 101

Michigan has a small pamphlet to inform everyone about how to play The Daily 4 Game. In it, it says, Bet Type Straight Odds 10,000-1 So are you saying if I do buy a ticket it would be improper to say the odds are 10000:1? In a normal conversation, I neve

Odds of various games
Those of us who watch TV probably know that McDonald's has its Monopoly game going on right now. Did you know that the odds of collecting the Boardwalk piece, one of the two pieces needed to win $50,000 a year for 20 years without interest (a total of $1 million), is 1 out of 651,841,628? The Monopoly Millionaires Club game started in a lot of states today. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 out of 72,770,880. However, the cost of the ticket is $5. So the per dollar odds are 1 out of 363

Do some number combinations have better odds?
The argument will always be you can't change the odds even though our odds are based on set conditions. It's a fact 2.56% of all the groups of 28 will match all five numbers in every drawing and you're simply betting you selected one of them. It's also a fact 2.50% of all QPs will win a prize so the odds against a group of 28 numbers matching five numbers are slightly better than better than those overall odds of a like number of QPs winning any prize.. Using Roulette as an example, I tried t

Post Your Winning Tickets Here
This Seems like tough odds to beat for that scratchoff game when you compare it to the Pick 3 game. Put $1 Straight on ANY pick 3 number and your odds of a straight hit and $500.00 payout will be 1 in 1,000 which are easier odds to beat than 1 in 1,622. In addition you are also spending $1 instead of $2. Put $2 straight on the same number and increase your prize payout to $1,000 with the same 1 in 1,000 odds. So the top prize for spending $2 in pick 3 is $1,000 with only 1 in 1,000 odds of
