Stay here, or flee the country ?
Of course, $7Mil would be quite heavy, too . And you have to declare anything over 10 Grand.
I think if we're talking about the practicalites of making it happen in the real world, it won't.
That leaves us with the principle of the event and the two choices in Guesser's universe
Does the punishment fit the crime ?

Paranoid or Prudent?
Those news reports you hear are about lottery officials making money illigally for themselves, not risking their lives so that a government agency could prosper!
Not to mention you're mixing apples and oranges. There has never been a news report that relates to this topic here. If there was then please point me to it.
To my knowledge, there has never been a reported incident of a lottery official trying to adjust games in any manner so that a system would not win. Probably because n

LP Meet & Greet
A similar idea was proposed a while back on the threads, like an LP convention, and how and who would organize such an event.
stavros, you copycat!! I had a thread like that once , but I said seminar . I LOVE the idea of a meet and greet , though!
A weekend in Vegas? Sign me up! I'll bring the coffee and cookies!!

LP Meet & Greet
You're probably right. Ok, a weekend. There are some airlines who make deals with Vegas providing cheap fares. Like here at the Airport, I forget what airline, but they have something like 59 bucks each way....I'm not sure, but heard it through the grapevine.
I'm pretty sure with those low prices, you would have to make 12 stops along the way...LOL but what the heck, it's worth it.

gail howard
i've been playing the michigan lottery since i moved up here in '90. and i thought this looks easy. all you got to do is pick and match the numbers. well, 17 years later, the most i've won in a year is $2,500, more or less. but no consistancy. i really liked the keno because of the jackpot ($250,000) and you don't have to share the jackpot in case more than two people won. then i bought the gail howard advantage plus software believing it will help. i got it last december. as of yet, i havn't ma

This shouldn't happen in Powerball..
Of course it should happen, and we know exactly how often we could expect it to happen.
For PB there are 3,478,761 possible combinations using all 55 of the regular balls. There are 501,942 of those combinations, or 14.4% of them, that consist of numbers 18 and higher. That means that 14.4% of the time, or roughly 1 in 7 drawings, we should expect that the lowest number will be 18 or higher. An event that happens 1 in 7 times is not rare by any reasonable definition. The probability that it

Lottery dream shattered for N.C. couple
The article doesn't say anything about looking at the ticket with a microsope, though that would be a pretty obvious, and perhas the first, forensic technique in the event that there is any question about the authenticity of the ticket. My guess would be that when the guy said there was a microscopic piece he simply meant it was a very small piece. As far as the statement about not relying on eyesight, the validation process is to make sure that what looks like a winning ticket really is a win

The so silly its stupid system
One of my favorite lotto tactics remains to track the Since Hit positions of the numbers that hit and then use this information to see the general trend of draw positions the numbers come from over time. I then use this info to select possible draw positions from which the numbers for the next drawing might come. This tactic can very in results based on the number of balls in the lotto game being tracked. It can be very effective in a larger ball game like PB for eliminating positions that

Super Powerplay
This is not about the current Powerball promotion. This is an idea for a modification for Powerball.
We presently have the extra dollar for the Powerplay option. Here's an idea for another layer to that. For an extra dollar on top of that (total $3 per play), you get a chance to play Super Powerplay. The concept is the multiplier would be 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x. The catch is that once the multiplier is drawn, it is removed until the 10x is drawn. This multiplier would be instead of the standard Pow

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
PS
If all the winners were anonymous, the news agencies would never 'cover' it anymore, and ticket sales would plunge. More people buy tickets when they see on the TV News or hear on the Radio News that the jackpot is 150 mill or more - especially when it gets over 200 mill.
They won't publicize it on the news if they can't publicize the winner: kinda imagine all the publicity leading up to the Daytona 500, seeing it in the news every day, but you are forbidden to release any results after
