Celestial coordinates, moon phases and lottery numbers
Jack, I've been following your posts with regards to celestial events and lottery draws with great interest. Now my interest has been rekindled and I've been trying to find my old notes to resurrect this idea which would be much simpler to handle with Excel, and far less time consuming....I put together a system back in 1985 based on numbers drawn within so many days of the full and new moons. I didn't get into the times and degrees and such but the results were outstanding. It got to a point wh

Affirmations, mantras and Hail Marys for the lottery
I don't mind, Jack. The time I was referring to was in 1987 or early 1988. I'll edit and skip the reason, but I had an argument with a man I was dating. I'm always a very careful driver (I sound like Raymond Babbitt.. I'm an excellent driver ) but somehow in my rage I made a wrong left turn. I started to see bright lights coming directly at me and realized I was just about to have a head-on collision. I know that near-accidents have happened to many of us, so that's why I always hesitate callin

Odds 101
I would think it's a matter of personal preference. I prefer that odds are separated by double colons and the smaller number placed first, as in 1::36. The odds are 1 in 36 that the specified event will occur .

The Odds Are The Reality
Dv,
By playing more straight combinations, you are raising your chances to hit but in the pick-4 by playing only 10 combinations, it would minuscule.
You are also confused about odds too. True odds are a proportion of the number of times an event will not happen to the number it will. Even if you play 1000 different combinations, they only draw one combination so the odds would be 8999 to 1.

If a friend...
I don't know.
For me the answer would depend a lot on the nature of the friendship, the circumstances of the 'gift' of the ticket, the amount of the win ($10 - not a chance), and probably a lot of other things.
A gift, thinks I, is a gift. What a person might do in the event the wooden nickel someone gave him turned out to be gold seems to require knowing a lot of other things before knowing the answer.

No delusion-100% winning method
What does this mean, that now one has to play all states and hopes that one of them turns out correct?
Never mind, i will just wait for the rules of this system to be posted, and if kola then wants, i'll turn it into a program for everyone to use.
Every system has rules on which things obey, otherwise it is not a system but a random event, and even that must have some rules according to Stephen Hawking...

The Meaning of Random Drawing
I realized the balls may be a different set, but there's nothing I can do about that. I assume that balls were changed in the past and effected what I've observed so if I continued to observe the reoccurring of an event then changing the balls must not effect it.
For example when I play MegaMillion, I can't afford to play all the megaballs so I definitely don't play 25 because it has not come up in the last 165 drawings. 90% of winning megaballs have been drawn in the previous 125 drawings,

Tn tea keno
Rip yea in quebec because more was won than lost.
Here is a link to the predictions. It goes to show that these games aren't easy to win. even 10 people posting all together different picks for these drawings might not see a jackpot win. Unless of course if they posted them evey day until they did win. In either event i don't know who could afford to do it for real.

It makes you wonder!
Like the fortune cookie incident there could be an event that cause a lot of people to play the same winning numbers, but there would be a lot of unhappy winners. RJOh
I don't think I'm a selfish person, but I have to agree with RJOh here. If I finally won a jackpot after years and years of playing, I'd be very upset to learn I had to share it with 50 other players since the odds of winning it a second time are very, very slim. However, if a jackpot is over $100M, I think it would be nice i

if you could change one thing.......
I am grateful to even have a legal lottery. I live in a state that just recently passed a lottery and had a helluva time getting it started. It took 20 years of fighting. It was a well talked about and ridiculed event. I have no complaints because we only have scratch offs now. The payouts are low but it's better than having zero.
My only concern is if we will have pick 3 and 4 games. So I guess you can say we are brow beaten. How's that for wanting to change something.
