Mass. Lottery retailers fight online sales bill
The Massachusetts Lottery says it could stop being successful unless a bill allowing online ticket sales becomes law, while retailers say their future success hinges on the bill not becoming law. Now the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection will weigh the benefits and drawbacks of an online lottery.
The Lottery is seeking authority from the Legislature to offer its current products scratch tickets, draw games, Keno and more to customers over the Internet, arguing that the Lottery's survival

Massachusetts has more repeat lottery winners than any other state
Over the last six years, four members of the Jaafar family of Watertown have cashed in more than 7,000 winning lottery tickets and collected a cool $11 million.
Statistics suggest it's nearly impossible to win the lottery that frequently. But Massachusetts has more repeat lottery winners than any other state, people who redeem so many winning tickets that they raise questions about the integrity and oversight of the $5 billion state lottery, according to a first-of-its-kind analysis of nearly

Study: N.C. Lottery scammers have cheated state out of $7 million
Lottery scammers have cheated North Carolina out of an estimated $7 million in back taxes and delinquent child support since 2009, a non-partisan arm of the General Assembly said.
At the request of a state legislator, the Fiscal Research Division teamed up with a UNC-Chapel Hill statistician to calculate the loss following an Observer investigation that found dozens of players winning the lottery so often that their luck defies logic.
Highlighted in the Observer's series was a lucrative se

Can Sportradar tackle potential cheating @ sports betting?
By RICHARD N. VELOTTA
It s been well-documented that the best people to ferret out sports cheats and game fixes are employed by Nevada s legal sports books.
After all, they have a financial interest in the outcome of every race, match and meet posted in their books. If the fix is in and a player or players are under the influence of g

Illinois Lottery not paying big winners because state legislature won't pass budget
After years of struggling financially, Susan Rick thought things were looking up when her boyfriend won $250,000 from the Illinois Lottery last month. She could stop working seven days a week, maybe fix up the house and take a trip to Minnesota to visit her daughter.
But because Illinois lawmakers have not passed a budget, she and her boyfriend, Danny Chasteen, got an IOU from the lottery instead.
For the first time, we were finally gonna get a break, said Rick, who lives in Oglesby. And

What do you NEED to come up with a Winning Lotto System??
This is a question I hear all the time. And, the answer is very simple, but not 'simple' in the HOURS it takes to figure out (without kidding yourself) IF your system is a true Winning system. As I've always said: A winning system means you can predict the winner AHEAD of time. Sure, you can work with 'reverse engineering' to come up with a system, but you MUST know how to explain, then PROVE your system can win MOST of the time.
I started with Scratch games and learned about 'alt-values' of

UPDATE: Winner was actually undercover inspector
By Todd Northrop
The search is on for a lottery winner in California who walked away with a much smaller prize than he actually won.
A man who went to cash out his Wild West Poker scratch-off lottery ticket at a Palmdale, California, gas station was given $75, but his ticket was actually worth $75,000.
Officials are trying to track down the man who went into a Palmdale store and was thousands of dollars short of his winnings.

Bill would allow N.C. lottery winners to remain anonymous
Lottery players in North Carolina who win big money in the games from a Powerball jackpot to a $600 scratch-off ticket win can't keep it a secret.
State law says the names of lottery winners and what they won are public information.
But a House bill set for a hearing Wednesday would change that, requiring confidentiality unless the winners consent to having their information released.
The bill's sponsor, Rep. Darren Jackson of Wake County, said he's concerned current technology makes it

Is it immoral to work if you've won enough to not work?
That's quite a misguided attempt at the blame game. The real culprits are those in our government who adhere to what follows below and the clods that vote for them.
What follows is very reminiscent of your posts and what you support, hopefully someday you'll realize it, tovarich.

Cover-up alleged in Arkansas Lottery
An irate lottery player claimed in county court that Arkansas Lottery officials tried to keep him quiet about flawed lotto tickets.
In a class action, the man says that the security director of the Arkansas Lottery Commission offered him a bizarre assortment of Lottery merchandise and asked him to keep quiet about flawed tickets, so the Lottery would not lose money while it had the tickets reprinted.
Lead plaintiff Rick Tomboli sued the Arkansas Lottery Commission and its top officials, in
