a sorta stupid question for the math type
d : a functional relationship between two or more correlated variables that is often empirically determined from data and is used especially to predict values of one variable when given values of the others <the regression of y on x is linear> ; specifically : a function that yields the mean value of a random variable under the condition that one or more independent variables have specified values
That's the definition that jschay56 was referring to, but just adding up the numbers in e

You guys want to make some money?
the way i read this, and i might be dead wrong, the random event is different for everyone on this planet.
I truly don't see how different people, with different backgrounds, different minds, could come to the same value for X (then translate and calculate the value of the word ) which is required to come up with the winning number.
The result is always 1 number, otherwise it is guessing!

You guys want to make some money?
Hi all!
Paurths, I wanted to address a portion of your post above:
On the other hand, think about anything that was important for you that day is very unlogic as a predictiontool.
Assuming the same day:
Amazing Grace might find the catch of a fish important,
cps10 wakes up and watch snow falling down and finds this important,
cashman wakes up and hears important news on the radio about an election,
i wake up and find my wife gone, which would be important to me.
Now, what event

Co-worker suing for share of lottery prize
I've said this here before on several occasions: Never EVER play in a lottery pool unless EACH member of the pool has been given a photocopy of all the tickets bought BEFORE the drawing AND there is a list of all pool members playing that particular drawing.
I put money in for a member who did not give me his/her money ahead of time on occasion and not once did I get stiffed; if I did I would never do the same for him/her again and I would have documented that failure in the event we won down

Florida Fantasy 5's New EZMATCH
Although the information on this game says the ez-match numbers are selected by the terminal this does not mean they are random numbers and prize amounts. If it was, then each prize amount would have the same odds of ocurring.
If it was completely a random event then each prize amount should have an equal chance of coming up. I am thinking this is less about actual random numbers matching and more about having a set algorothm where in a prize pool of 210,000 tickets, one ticket will be select

Airplane crash dream
This seems to be a common dream among our membership so, just out of curiosity, I Googled airplane crash dream.
The first listing will take you here:

This is what they have to say:
Airplane Crash
To dream of being in this event is a feeling of not only a dramatic negative change in your life, but also to everyone around you as well as your environment. A very negative symbol and should be meditated upon. To dream of witnessing this ev

Help with mathematical averages
You have to watch it with averages.
I was looking at a guy with a bald spot on the top of his head and reasonably long hair on the back and sides of his head. So, what's his average hair length. It's probably the same as someone elses who has uniform hair length all across his head. The point being, how does an average become an average at the event level, via extremes or uniformly? Most of the lottery data I've looked at seems to be a mix..hot numbers/cold numbers/ and some average number

lottery superstitions and habits
Yeah, I have now that you mention it. I have certain things that I do:
I have lost a $11,000,000.00 lottery jackpot and a $3,000.00 + dog race---I had figured the trifecta or whatever it was called by reading the previous races and dogs!------- because I let someone in my family persuade me NOT to play. From that, I learned; don't go against your gut instinct, just DoN't, dOn'T, D-O-N-T, DONT'T.When the gut says play at a certain retailer, I follow the lead and usually win a little, sum,

Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased to $256 million
Way to go MM. I did not think you would let PB steal your thunder! You go. You have prompted me to join a lottery pool, MM. Now the odds will be better for me. Good thing the pool wants to do what I want to do with my winnings. Without reading the stories, we have a contract! Press, be cautious, honor our privacy. We will just give ya' what is required by the MM rules as far as publicity. Now Mega Millions, if you beat the record's highest jackpot, this pool of winners will make you the
