$320 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot goes through the roof
From the Powerball FAQ page: All but five states (DE, KS, MD, ND, OH) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks. Other states may offer to assist you in some way, including such things as the creation of trusts... Photos and press conferences are up to you for most, but not all states. Check with your state lottery to see if photos or more are required... Even if you can keep your identity secret from the press and the public, you will

Arizona Lottery winners could soon remain anonymous
Sounds to me like you're the sheep who thinks we should all go along with whatever the government wants without question. Players are the ones paying the stupid tax every time we buy a ticket, and then paying more taxes when we win. We help fund state education and other public services entirely voluntarily. So if we want a change, we have the right to ask for it. The lotteries will still announce winners, just not as many names will be mentioned. I think there will still be plenty of peop

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
The $10 LFL winner story is somewhat hidden in the press release but the prize remaining table is still not updated. I don't know why. As far as we know, the $2 LFL has not been claimed. But it is possible that the ticket has been bought but for some reason, the buyer still hold on to it.

Arizona bill to allow anonymity for lottery winners clears panel
A bill that would allow Arizona lottery winners to remain anonymous moved closer to passage Wednesday following a contentious hearing in a state Senate committee that pitted the Republican sponsor against Democrats who argued it would diminish public accountability. The bill by Rep. John Kavanagh, R-Fountain Hills, was prompted by the public release of a Fountain Hills man's name after he won half of a $587.5 million Powerball jackpot in November. Matthew Good's name was released under Arizon

200 Winning Pick 3 Tickets
That's why I made the example worth $100,000. That is worth the IRS's time to track down. In a city the size of Boise, you'd have to go to the same stores a few times to get them all cashed, hence more risk of a snoopy clerk deciding to turn you in. I wonder if the lottery cooperates with the IRS? I wonder if they'd release their video of who bought the tickets if the IRS asked, and find out you had all 200 winners? That's assuming they have cameras in the machines like ATMs do.

Missouri Powerball winners live modestly, give back to hometown
it's not like they only have 10 million to throw around. they have 130 million. they could rebuild that entire town if they so desired. get a tax credit in a town of 400 people. i don't think it matters one iota. they need to loosen up the grip on this money somehow somewhere. i know they don't have to if they don't want to but they should release the valve that holds the cash. You sound like one of those who would lose it in a few years. Those belt tightening conservative midwesteners h

The stores video camera.
I think they should have a warning at least a week before they release the image/video. Last year here they released images after only a month, though the guy did say he was unaware he won (it was weird though because he checked the ticket at numerous places and at different times). The image was pretty clear as well, he was called and informed that his picture was shown. And I realize you could wear one of those germ masks, but I'd rather not. I wouldn't expect people to be nosy though,
