Dawson won the Hot Lotto jackpot before Hexham Investments' attorney Crawford Shaw presented the ticket for validation almost a year after the drawing. IMO, the problem with Reed's argument, he is basically assuming the number of tickets sold would remain the same in the 10 draws before he won. Looks like he is ignoring the fact had nobody won the $95 million, sales for the next 10 drawings would be much higher.

What I did before was buy 1 ticket for every draw and added an additional ticket when it hit $200million cash and an additional ticket for every hundred million after that. I did buy one for tonight's drawing but after this, I may wait until it hits $250million or $500million cash before I buy a ticket. I've also considered only buying one once a month because even though I know it is pricey, I'd still like a shot at it.

I was just looking at the jackpot calculation documents on the Texas lottery website. It has the estimated rollover jackpot as 72M But it says estimated sales for tonights drawing is $25,047,000. I haven't bought my ticket for tonight yet and I'm sure a lot of other people haven't either. is the estimated sales based off of previous weeks?

All I m saying is, That you have a poor grasp of reality. The first advertised jackpot for the new game is $54 million instead of the normal (new) starting jackpot of $50 million. Apparently you'd be happier if somebody had won on Friday night and Wednesday's drawing was offering you a chance for $50 million instead of a chance for $54 million.
