I dont know hows it is in the states but I too live in Freeport ....when the number is post and there is a win on the ticket we go to the house to collect. In the Bahamas we have people who have pda's/ handheld number machine who manually put the numbers and a print out is issued. When a person wins that same ticket either has a ticket number or a bar code...The money is issued by the number house and the ticket is collected so that the number house can validate the payouts for that day. So it w

Poaching for winning tickets
James! I hope you didn't take offense to my post....I was kidding! I do not see anything wrong with watching what is played and discarded...the low down people are the ones with no shame who approach you with questions..can't they keep it low key? Like NOT SPEAK? If I see someone hitting a machine like crazy on one ticket and not turning in a winner and then leaving, sure enough that ticket will be my next choice. I think you misunderstood what I was saying and if I gave you the i

Ticket Issues
Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I havebeen lurking for a while. Anyway to my point... Today I stopped in Oklahoma and decided to get my regular fix of tickets for the two games I play (Mega Millions and Powerball) I have ten sets of numbers that I play everytime, the same numbers for both games. So I fill out the forms, I do not normally purchase in Oklahoma so I did not have them ready. I give them to the clerk and all of them go fine except for one. So they tell me that I

Lucky and unlucky Scratch-off ticket numbers
It turned out to be $80 in profit from scratch offs. I have $268 worth of tickets to turn in. I knew the Holiday Gifts well enough to know that something was not right to get 6 losers in a row, then get 2 free tickets back to back. It is a break even game if you buy all of the tickets, I feel confident that you would end up with pretty close to what you started with. It almost never goes more than three tickets without a winner, and at first, most of the winners were either $15 or $20, with no f

$750,000 Winner - Jingle Jumbo Bucks - 2010
The main reason for this poll and topic are to see if the $100 jingle bell symbol has ever hit for $100, or whatever the amount is in your state. Also, have you had a JUMBO worth more than 5 times $4? I was looking for advice from those who have played this game a little, both here in Georgia, as well as other states that have it. It is a $10 scratch-off, with overall odds of 1:2.74, the best odds of any seasonal game in GA, and the second best odds of any ticket at all. According to the Geor

Lucky and unlucky Scratch-off ticket numbers
Chances are good that somewhere, sometime, someone will win the big one on 022. I doubt, though, it'll be me. 022 hates me. That's okay because I've got some numbers that like me. In the vending machine, of course, we can't see what'll be spit out next...we have to buy one then go from there. Anytime that 022 comes out, I get a sinking feeling. Just once out of so many times, it's been more than zilch. We can see the ticket numbers if the tickets are in a display case or under th

Lucky and unlucky Scratch-off ticket numbers
Matt...I've come to the conclusion that lopping off a zero on that $20 and playing just the $2 ticket is better than sinking $20 into one ticket. I've tried quite a few in my time and sure, there are winners on the higher tickets $10 $20 $25 but when you can catch a $1 or $2 ticket in a string of 10/20 or 5/10 and win $100, they are a lot better than buying 2 or 3 $20 tickets and winning nothing. Today, just a minor example...Bankroll ($2) - ticket number 123 - won $20 Nothing big but m

What do you consider winning when playing Lottery
RL Hello everyone If one playes a $1.00 play and hits for a $1.00 return is that winning. Some would say NO, and others would say YES. Getting back exactly what you played is called breaking even. It's not considered a win. I know, millions of people put five quarters in a video poker machine, get a pair of jacks and get paid five quarters and say, I won! I won , but did they? Along thes lines, one of the biggest beefs we ever had in one casino was in the Keno lounge. This ca

Kalamazoo mart customer holds $36M lottery ticket
A regular lottery customer of a gas station market in Kalamazoo, Mich., holds the winning Mega Millions ticket for a $36 million jackpot, the store owner said Monday. Citgo One Stop Mart owner Kaushik Patel said his southwest Michigan store sold the winning ticket last week in Friday night's multistate game drawing. Patel said the man, who hasn't been identified, came to the store Saturday to check his tickets but the machine didn't process. He went home, checked online and discovered his
