Plenty of gaming topics on Legislature's early agendaWith a state lottery poised to launch next month, Tennessee state legislators face an early decision on whether to unseat those who are directing it and later debate on other gambling issues.Related topics in the upcoming legislative session, which begins Jan. 13, range from charity gaming to the size of the lottery prize money pool and the standards for granting scholarships to home school students. But the first subject on the agenda is wheth

A state appeals court is expected to take about two months to make a ruling into whether the 2001 legislation expanding gambling in New York is legal.Anti-gambling forces argue that several aspects of the law are unconstitutional. The bill provided for video lottery terminals at horse-racing tracks, up to six new Indian casinos and New York's entry into the Mega Millions lottery game.

State to display odds of winning
When Tennesseans start playing the lottery next year, they'll know something dreamers in many other states don't: the odds of winning.State law doesn't require the odds to be advertised, but Tennessee lottery chief Rebecca Paul believes it's good business to do so. Every place I've ever been has prominently displayed it in brochures, at point of sale, where people get their play slips, where they fill them out, Paul said. It's important to have it there and ready and available for anybody who

Texas Lottery
Hi Rebecka,I think it's time you Texans learn who's in charge of Texas...Those people who create and make those stupid decisions or the people who elect them and put them in office.I am fed up to my nostrils with stupid, unexplained,no reason for, down right idiotic legislation by lottery officials who's jobs are not elected positions.I guess Texas is not above the same negative political restraints as the rest of the country. lottoscorp

Petittion/Survey Ny Lotto Public:
Lottoscorp:I don't think it's grant .You probably would have to notify your state assembly/state senate member. They probably have more important legislation to consider. The best possible thing I can think of is a boycott that would start as soon as there is news of a jackpot hit (hopefully Thursday morning.) You can't expect people to stop playing until the prize is at the minimum level ($3 million or less).

Lotto TEXAS
Todd: I voted for the 6/59, because TX has not passed legislation to go multi-state. After TX has Mega Millions (doubt they'd want PB) they could simply make the 6/59 two plays for $1 (though they would need new bet slips again).

Ever play MUSL Hot Lotto ?
$1.4 million/$840,000 cash Wednesday 2/19. I have a hunch NORTH DAKOTA will have Hot Lotto by Labor Day; DC joins in August. Remember that ND's legislation (currently) allows only MULTI-STATE games; this means ND would not be able to sell scratchers except for the Powerball TV game show.

Ohio may have to wait for Biggame Mega Millions
The same is true here in New York. However, the legislation allowing NY to sell multi-state tickets also included Indian-run casions and video lottery terminals at most horse tracks.

Lump Sum
From the FAQ (a list of Frequently-Asked Questions) on the Big Game site:Q. After I buy a ticket, can it be changed from annuity to cash option?A. Federal legislation states that if you are a jackpot prize winner but did not choose the cash option at the time of purchase AND you claim your prize within sixty (60) days of the drawing, you will have one last chance to choose the cash option. If you choose the cash option at the time of purchase you cannot change to annuity.
