International super lottery to create jackpots of $500 million or more
tax is an interesting problem. here in australia the gov getes its tax by taxing everyone who buys a ticket. thats right 1/11th of all gambling wagers goes straight to the fed gov as a gambling tax. so when aust. buys a international lotto ticket, We will pay our tax at the terminal, all the buyers will pay tax. doesnt matter if its won here or not. In usa tthe gov will only get tax income when the ticket is actually won there!
now it depends on whaqt you think is fairer, all the losers

The Pick 3 GREEN BALL DOUBLE DRAW Promotion will take place from March 3, 2008 thru March 30, 2008!
How Pick 3 GREEN BALL DOUBLE DRAW works:
1. Each night during the promotion, after the regular Pick-3 drawing occurs, the drawing host will conduct another drawing from a separate machine that contains 6 white balls and 1 green ball.
2. If the green ball is drawn, a second set of Pick-3 numbers will be drawn and players will have a second chance to win from the same ticket purcha

Winner of New York's biggest lottery jackpot sold himself the ticket
You are 100% right and I have noticed this too. This issue should really be brought to the attention of more people because I'm pretty sure they are not aware of it.
For example, I have noticed the following: If I'm playing $1-$2 scratch games and get some of the lower-tier prizes ($1, $2, $4), when I bring those tickets to be cashed to a retailer, all they do is scan the bar code in the back of the ticket and it tells them that it's a winner and for that amount.
Now I've noticed that let'

Quick Picks can't match the power of Self Picks
Let me see if i can explain this better. Lets say i go to 10 different farm stores and by 10 quick pick tickets then go home and check each ticket i have found that for some reason 8 of ten tickets out of the 100 have numbers like 01-03-05- others might have 34-35-39 and still others might have the same or similar numbers etc.
Now on a piece of paper i write down all the numbers 1 thru 46 in the pool and then check every number on the tickets and make hash marks for every number i have on the

$1 QP vs $2 Your numbers and a QP
Ok here you go I haven't checked results but tonight I spent a little more time to examine what the machine gave versus the picks I made with 15 lines from a wheel.
I did a line to line check of my numbers versus the QP's generated, there were only 2 lines that had no numbers duplicated by the DCQPicker, there were 5 lines that had 1 number duplicated, there were 3 lines that had 2 numbers duped., and there is one line that had 4 numbers duplicated by the Qpicker!.
The last ticket I d

What would you do in this situation?
The clerk 'accidentily' printing off a second ticket is really no different than someone else picking the same numbers 1,000 miles away somewhere else. If the clerk prints off an 'extra' copy of your numbers, and they are losers, do you owe the clerk any money ? No. What if you ran in the store just before the deadline, bought a pre-printed ticket (and it was really a duplicate of somebody else's ticket bought earlier), and it won, would you complain ? No. Would you hand your winnings to

Store owner's lottery bonus put on hold
........ According to CT Lottery spokeswoman Diane Patterson, Zahid has not received his bonus because unfortunately, Mr. Zahid does owe some money to the lottery. At this time there is a net balance to the account.
The amount has not been disclosed.
According to Patterson, lottery vendors must maintain separate bank accounts dedicated to lottery monies.
There is no charge to the retailer to sell Lotto tickets, Patterson said, but vendors do pay a commission to the Lottery for each

Lottery pool loses $36 million jackpot; wrong tickets bought
Members of a Belgian lottery pool who thought they had won 27 million euros (US$35.8 million) were devastated when they found the wrong numbers had been entered.
The group of 30 from Mouscron, south-west of Brussels, had been using the same numbers to enter the Euro Millions jackpot for weeks.
Members of the syndicate started to celebrate when their numbers came up in Friday's draw, reports the BBC.
However, the person in charge of buying the ticket had allowed the machine to choose Qui
