POLL: Time travel
By reading just the poll questions, I really don't know what there is 'to get' ??? If I had my druthers, I'd pick the Lottery or the Derby, because all the others I pretty much know: I've predicted most Super Bowl winners, most World Series winners, I do well in the stock market, and I know where to buy land, after doing some research. To qualify that, I cannot tell you today who will win the Series or the Super Bowl, but I can tell you a few days before the games/game. With the Derb

What Would You Buy First After Winning Big
Not exactly. All the others asked what would you buy? This poll asks, What would you buy first? A small yet interesting difference, don't you agree? BobP You could say the same for adding one of these thingies to a post.

My Least Favorite 4 Letter Word
ThatScaryChick In the opening post of this thread DownandDirty said winning the lottery . Hitting pick 3s and 4s are nice, but winning the lottery means making a huge score, a jackpot, somewhere between $2 and $360 million (or whatever the highest jackpot yet has been. When one wins the lottery they are set for life (as long as they don't blow it), it's a life-changing event. I can't see hitting up Pick 3 and Pick 4 payoffs in the same category as winning the lottery . Tell you what, hi

POLL: Do you play every drawing or not?
With me the answer would be yes and no. I run a lottery pool at my job, and we play every Powerball and Lotto drawing. If we win anything short of a jackpot, I poll the membership and we decide how to spend the money. The last few times, we bought extra tickets and when Louisiana was doing the Millionaire Raffle, we bought one of those as a group. On my own, I play Lotto and Easy 5 with Easy Match every drawing(2 per week). For Powerball though, I only play that one for myself when t

Sex Offender Wins$57 Million in Lottery
He's (Fred Topous) also on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry for committing a criminal sexual assault with the intent to commit penetration. He registered in 1999, and is compliant. Ever watch To Catch a Predator on Dateline NBC? I don't know all the details about Topous' conviction, but in some states just the intent will get them jail time and require them to register as sex offenders. But unless there is a law preventing sex offenders or convicted felons from buying lottery tickets,

Hello! I'm new here
I've been coming on to LP for about a month now, just to read the posts and get the latest scoop in the news. Thought what the heck, why not just join the fun. I've been playing the lottery for awhile now, and unfortunately I haven't won much more than $7 about 3 or 4 times. I admit though, I don't play very often. My tight budget has me choosing which game and what time to play. I play Hit 5 when it reaches about 250,000, but become very discouraged when I see I can't even manage to hit 1. I pl

Surprise $1,000,000 in your Bank Account
It's basically impossible to find a surprise $1 million in you bank account that belongs to you too but apparently some people believe it's possible because they voted. If somebody decided to give them the money by depositing it into their account, it would their money to do what they chose. And if it's bank error, it's not their money so spending it would be a dumb idea. Since this is a lottery discussion, I'm assuming the surprise $1 million came from lottery winnings because I can't think

Combinations & % Error Challenge
Hey, that would make a good poll. How many failures have you experienced while developing your method? ....qoute:GASMETERGUY If success is winning more than you spend every time you play then lottery players fail almost every time they play and that's the way the games are designed or else the states couldn't keep 50% of the sales for themselves and offer a large jackpot to the winner to attract more players. When I test a theory, what ever happens is not a failure to me, the results answe

Combinations & % Error Challenge
I am please to noted that you took the time to look. While the results were disappointing, having that knowledge is better than not having it. I once had a chemistry professor in college who told us that 99% of all the experiments turned out to be failures. Had someone documented those failures, future chemists would not waste their time re-inventing the wheel, or the experiment in this case. I think LP would benefit if there was a forum for failed attemts. There might be a gem or two of b
