As Fla. lottery sales slow, schools stand to lose
Lottery sales are still expected to grow from this year's $1.28 billion. IMO I think the state is making a ton of money, considering the current economy. What do they expect with all the foreclosures, high unemployment and inflation? Lollipop, maybe we should start a poll. I disagree that many people in FL drive to GA, but I could be wrong. From my neck of the woods, it would take me an entire day to get to GA and back plus around $100 in gas. I can see driving from Jacksonville or the

If you won powerball or megamillion
O_o Why are you posting the poll in a post when someone just has to scroll up and look? Especially when it's out of date once someone else votes. There's a very simple reason why I wouldn't share the wealth (except for when it's to help reduce my tax burden) and that's because typically the more you give away the more everyone will want. Want to see that in action? Donate $5 to a non-profit group and then watch them annoy the hell out of you for more money and maybe even sell your name/a

Florida power outage
Coin Toss - I know it was a typo, but you first wrote outrage (see poll) which is ironic, since I was thinking of the 2000 election and the Jan '08 primary when I signed on. LOL Yes, definitely a conspiracy...and an outrage! I'm not supposed to get political on threads, but maybe someone is worried that our votes will be counted, so they had to wipe out the real results. In fact, I think they have a suspect in custody named Chad something. Regarding the power failure, we were lucky in So

Florida Fantasy 5
Never say never Last night I was kidding around in a thread with a poll 'how do you pick your numbers' and said I play the number of posts the person I'm responding to has. That was my 807th post and I didn't want to play that because 807 hit in yesterday's midday drawing. Well it hit straight again in today's midday drawing so it does happen. In Fantasy 5 there is a total of 5310 combinations that match 3 of the numbers from the previous drawing so while it's unlikely to happen, it's fa

Which Win do you prefer
I would like to win with my own numbers, only because I've bet them for a long time, but that's not what I checked because if I win with any system whatsoever, I'll be happy. I will be thrilled if I buy a mistake that gets printed and I win. I once purchased a couple of tickets that the clerk ran and someone didn't have enough money to pay for them. (you've probably seen this happen) I guess someone asked for 5 QPs and only had $3. I certainly wouldn't want to win with someone else's tic

Pearl found on Restaurant.
I was also a little skeptical about it. Ok, here comes a little history. I had a higher score for Hotbits (a RNG test), it scored : 57 positive hits. Final score: 57 3.5625 standard deviations Significance: 2.042268747044712E-4. A score of this many hits can be expected by chance every 4896 runs. Since the result is considered Significant enough, there was a possibility of play this number on some Lottery. Ok, I was thinking about how the New Year was on Santa

Should one play if they have others feeding them
Sorry, I misunderstood your comment. I see what you mean. Yes, I agree. There have also been allegations here that local charities have stolen money but they can't steal your time and love. Last month someone broke into the local Salvation Army warehouse in Fort Myers and stole all the toys. Fortunately, local businesses have had fundraisers which have been a great help. To me it's just useless banter. Just like the poll. Just so you know, I read your whole post. I simply d

how did you do in the lottery for 2007?
Did better than I did. I started keeping track and doing a set amount each year in 2003. Hence the $20 dump due to only playing with high jackpots vs whim. Keeping track is fun and a good way to see just how much you can spend. I think another good question for a poll would be: What was the most you ever spent at one time on lottery tickets? For me, that would be $20. I was behind a guy in line at the 7/11 who was buying, really, $250 worth of Mega Million tickets.

Should one play if they have others feeding them
Wow. I have a suggestion people: Don't take it so personally. Maybe if the title of the post was: Should perfectly healthy, mentally capable, but lazy people living off the backs of others play the lottery by using given/stolen money from friends, realtives, charities, local/state/federal govts.? Would that be more on point and less offensive? Tntea sure pushed some peoples' anger buttons, it is only a poll on a forum. Everybody benefits from our great country, when you walk outside
