Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
What if the Iowa Lottery had allowed Crawford Shaw to anonymously claim What part of the lottery knowing who claims a prize even when the winner's identity isn't released to the public is still confusing you? When winners are allowed to remain anonymous it means that the lottery doesn't release their name to the public, not that the lottery just hands them a big bag of cash and sends them on their way.

Massachusetts has more repeat lottery winners than any other state
Also this could be the reason why some states may also make it mandatory for the lottery winners to be announced via news versus remaining anonymous. Just Imagine what would have happened if this person's picture and name was shown in the news and a big news release was done to announce the lottery winner. Imagine how many times he would appear. Would that not be cause for suspicion and to have people wondering? I know I would. I know some others would also and not to mention those who play regu

Indiana lets winners remain anonymous, sounds good to me. But I do wonder if any states have been dropped before.

Meet the NYC men who won the lottery hundreds of times and collected millions
That doesn't change the fact their names were found. There is a huge difference between a state lottery announcing the names and address of prize winners and someone finding the names and addresses using the Freedom of Information Act. But at the end of the day if their names are found regardless of who finds it, the prize winners are not anonymous.

Commission spokesman Lee Park declined to identify the three and refused to explain why they were being probed. Seems pretty anonymous to me.

Meet the NYC men who won the lottery hundreds of times and collected millions
and nearly two dozen won at least 200 times, according to an analysis of lottery data. Somebody got the data from the lottery yet lots of people here think they can remain anonymous by claiming using a trust. Just because some state lotteries won't publish the winners names doesn't mean that info can be found and investigated.

Billlion-dollar Jackpot for PB
I'd only really want to beat her record if I played in an anonymous state. Was looking up the FL hq and the way it is set up is a looooong walk to visitor parking, perfect for media waylaying types. And you have to claim in Tallahassee apparently, no driving to some far away claim center like you can in NY where you can claim in Manhattan, Schenectady or, which one winner did, up in the Fishkill region. And the cherry on top: I think you have to call ahead and make an appointment.
