Next "Huge" jackpot??
This is the correct information from what I read off of the Powerball website. The current Powerball record is $365 million annuity set in 2006. Therefore you can only increase the next record run by an increment of $25 million annuity as stated in the match 5 bonus prize pool rules. So the next jackpot would be $390 million annuity and if that jackpot is not won it will only increase to $415 million annuity. The rest would go into a match 5 bonus prize pool to be distributed to the 5+0 winn

NEW POLL: Have any of you met a lottery winner?
I live in a town of about 25,000 people and according to the Ohio Lottery website the last time I checked, there were 15-20 lottery retailers in the area(some only sell scratch-offs). I alway remind people of that when they suggest I pool my money with theirs to improve my odds of winning a jackpot. I figure at least 1,000 tickets are sold in the area for each drawing and I've never heard of anyone winning big so combining $10 with their $10 when they can spare it is not improving my odds of w

Lottery pool
I am not in Chicago area. I like the idea of lottery pool. When MM or PB is higher than 100 million, assuming each member will be satisfied if his/her share is more than 2 million, then 50 members play togeter will increase the chance for every member by 50 fold. Assuming each player play 10 bucks each draw, the odds of winning jackpot is 1 in 300,000 (win 2 million each), much better than 1 in 15,000,000 if one plays alone (win 100 million). The chance of wining match 5 will become 1 in

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
Greg...as I make these comments please note I have not read The Lottery Solution, so any insight you can offer would be appreciated. As you mention a ticket in NY and CA are purchased, this specfic reply will be based upon the Mega Millions game. You state the number of combinations to be sold is controlled . This implies a pool of numbers is offered for sale, while another pool of numbers is held back. Does this mean that all of the lottery machines in the Mega Millions states are linke

Which game is hardest...
Well, if you're just playing Quick Picks, the Pick 6/25 technically is harder than the Pick 5/20 + 1/11. However, when applying a system, and comparing those 2 different types of games with the jackpot odds only being separated by a few thousand, the Pick 6 game could end up being the easier one in the long run. The reason for this is simply because of the fact the Pick 6 game is one pool of numbers whereas the Pick 5+1 game is 2 pools of numbers. The fact alone that the person using a system is

numbers don't lie
I don't know where he was going either, but both of our examples are good ways to show that while numbers don't lie, what we do with them may be misleading to some, or at least counter-intuitive. Just because some people are fooled doesn't mean that there is any intent to deceive.By choosing to reduce each group of 10 by 3, you chose the pattern that resulted in the highest number of combinations. By reducing only 1 group of 10 by all 9, I chose the one with the fewest combinations. I don't kno

Ohio's Classic Lotto 03/14/07
Looks like I'm going to need a little more history before picking numbers for this game, for a minimum, I prefer that every number in the pool has hit 3 times.
