Would you as a LP member alert the forum should you win the lottery?
Hell yeah I'd post it just so I could tell AceKicka to suck it!!...lol as for the national headlines I wouldn't want to be in the spotlight. I have no outstanding warrants, or debts, or anything like that but..I think I would speak to an attorney and figure out someway to remain anonymous. for heaven and safety's sake.

What will you wear...?
No matter what you wear to collect your winnings, you will still have to give your correct name, home city and social security number to the lottery agency. Unless you live in an anonymous state, they will publish your name and city.

The big jackpots have been won- What now?
To each their own, just my $.02, but waiting for every one else to build up a jackpot up can be kind of bad lotto karma. Perhaps that is the reason why I haven't won anything significant or the odds factor is just validating their point. The next time I visit an anonymous state like SC or MD, I'll make it a point to purchase one each of PB and MM no matter the size of the jackpot.

$478 MILLION: Powerball jackpot surges into top 10
Congrats to the winner(s). I live over in NY and have travelled to New Hampshire several times to visit friends and would always buy multi-draw PB/MM tickets while there, I did it for the billion dollar jackpot earlier this year. This PB run I was down in Nashville, TN a couple weeks ago and bought my multi-draws there. Tennessee and New Hampshire are similar in respect to the lottery in that there's no state tax and past winners have demonstrated the ability to remain anonymous by claiming the

Indiana family claims $536 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Correct. And not all non anonymous states allow one to claim via a trust. It depends on the state rules and who can claim it....a person and/or an entity. Virginia does not allow it but DC does. Trusts are actually easy to set up but you do need an attorney who specializes in estates.

Pennsylvania lottery winners now subject to state tax on prizes
TheGameGrl is right, it's not the state, it's Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, also known as the City of Brotherly Shove. Personally, I'd be far more upset with a state that lets winners remain anonymous changing it's policy to disallow it then a state that started taxing winners.

$333 MILLION: Powerball offers up summertime riches
l am not disagreeing with you D- l am simply saying that it would have been a better option for him. Perhaps however slightly the prospect, he could have blown through his first check at warp-speed seeing that he was penniless, could figure out that he had 29 more chances to right his ship. We all know how it ended- but l was speaking from a what if's POV. Agencies such as Alcoholic Anonymous do not exist for nothing- there is always a chance that people can clean up their lives. As l previously
