Does anyone find it strange that mega with lower jackpots is having more jackpot winners than powerball that has larger jackpots. I'd assume that because the jackpot is higher that would create more players but the jackpot just seems to continue to grow while mm jackpots are lower but producing more winners. Just a thought

Up until its jackpot reaches $90 Millions, PB jackpots are under funded by ticket sales so they are playing catch-up from having started their jackpots at $40 Millions and increasing them by at least $10 Millions until they're won. MegaMillions will take a more conservative approach by starting its jackpots at $15 Millions and increasing them by at least $5 Millions until they're won but even its jackpots could be under funded at the lower amounts.

I think powerball is taking all the fun away from having 100 million dollar jackpots. I used to be excited to see a 100+ million dollar jackpots but now I'm like no body wins at 100 million ill wait to its 250 or more that's when it's starts to get exciting. In my opinion mega has become the second tier jackpot game and doesn't need super jackpots.

I don't think anyone plays the lotto to match 2 numbers. And you can't have it both ways its either more winners and smaller jackpots or less winners and higher jackpots. Its takes time for jackpots to grow so that would mean people would have to lose to get a jackpot higher.

How are the incraments of the jackpots determined? Powerball seems to grow by 10 million untill it gets into the larger jackpots. Are they based on percentage of ticket sales or something else? Hot lotto jackpots seem to crawl at $50,000 each time. For something with 1 in 29 million odds that seems a bit low, but it sells less tickets too.
