New York: 6/1 - 6/30/2012
Here is how my 'attempt' to play numbers went last night. Couldn't get out of work until about 6:55. If I had KNOWN I was going to stay THAT late I would have gone out at lunch to get eve numbers. So I then get to a store about 7:10, thinking 'just in time for the 7:15ish cutoff' There is a large line at the counter so I go to the machine which I have used many times before. Put my play slip in, hear a strange sound where the ticket is suppose to come out and it screen then says 'missprint pleas

Have gotten off track of being on budget for lottery anyone else the same?
Yeah, I've been spending more than I intended at the beginning of the year. But I usually can control the urges. I won $100 on a scratcher a couple Sundays ago, and I rarely buy them. I bought them while buying my jackpot tics for the week. So last Thursday I bought a couple more $5 scratchers, only won $5. Ok, last Sunday I bought 2 more scratchers while buying my weekly tics, no winners. Ok, I thought, that's enough. So, tonight on the way to the store to buy the office pools tics I decide

Choosing How Much Money To (Try And) Win...
There's a couple different kinds of occasional players. There's the type that aren't in the habit of playing the lottery like we are, so it doesn't occur to them to go out and buy a ticket unless a record is being approached and the hype machine kicks in. Either that or they just happen to be at the gas station or the grocery store or wherever, they see the lottery terminal flashing the current jackpots, and they decide to throw down a couple of dollars. It's not that people would turn down a sm

I finally have some luck with scratch off tickets
The most I ever won on a scratcher was $200 on NY's $10 Win For Life card, and I had bought two from the machine. The second card hit for $25! No kidding, that was the first time I took a chance and bought a $10 scratcher of any kind! I had a few extra bucks on me and I felt goofy, so I took the leap. Unfortunately, I kinda got the bug about the variety of $10 cards, and picked them far too much over the past year, winning a $100 twice and quite a few $50s hits, but many many losers! So I'm o

New England states start new lottery game Thursday
Cash vs. annuity debate aside, I've been anxiously awaiting this game for several reasons. First, as a Vermont resident, I've been clamoring for a Monday/Thursday draw game for a long time now. Many states already have either a daily or a Mon/Thurs game for a while now, and only now has Vermont (and, by extension, Maine and New Hampshire) begun to offer such a game. Second, Lucky for Life is infinitely preferable to the outgoing Weekly Grand (Extra). The only time I ever won anything appr

Lottery tricks and secrets and scams...
The trick is to get the machine to read the ticket after you mark the QP box and the number 3, right? What part of this is from experience? Haven't tried marking a number and QP in years (in Texas) but last time the clerk said invalid choice. Some states may allow it. Might try it tonight just to see what happens. The rest makes no sense. Generating deltas has no advantage. With the speeds of processors being what they are, you are talking saving a whole .01 millsecond, or maybe a micro

Lottery stop loss limit=$60 annually with three playing methods starting in 2012
I cut way back. Play $1 each PB drawing, $1 each MM drawing, $1 each Wis Megabucks drawing, and my $1 each daily Wis Spercash drawing. And $1 on each Wis Badger 5 drawing when jackpot is about $60,000 or above. Cost $13 per week. + B5 drawings. A nice sense of freedom walking past a lottery terminal. Just enough to have the dream. Have $5 to roll over on Thursday, my ticket buying day. 7 days on Supercash, 2 draws on PB, 2 draws on MM, 2 draws on Megabucks. My system requires me to

I feel cheated by New York lottery quick picks
I won twice on a $5.00 PowerBall quickpick ( 160.00) and there were obviously double numbers on those two lines, so I was happpy. I wonder if I would had had that and won the jackpot, if I would had won twice too??? And you know you must talk to the machine, I do that, I tell that machine that I love it, it is my favorite machine, yes I flirt with it, but it's okay since it is not married. I sometimes rub it too, just a few little sweet finger rubs up and down it's back, slow rubs all the whi

New Vending machines in Illinois
Played at a Phillips 66 today. I had a $1 Little Lotto winner that I got from one of the new machines. When I gavre it to the clerk at the gas station he asked me where I got it. The machine tickets are longer than the service counter ones. He wasn't aware of the machines but was aware of the black and white symbols on the front of the scratchers, just not that they were for the machines. I got a $1 $500 A week for Life ticket and that symbol wasn' on it. I'm thinking Northstar is going

New Vending machines in Illinois
cooldude, I'll have to try checking a scratcher that way again. I thought those black and white things on front where the same thing marketers are using for smart phones. Went back today to play with the machine- had a Little Lotto slip filled out for multi-draw, put $2 in thinking the machine would scan the playslip and default to 2 draws, but instead it said something like, Improper betslip, cannot process. So since there was $2 in the machine I played a LL QP and a barefoot Powerball (n
