Where are the two winners?
You stated it doesn't take months to get all your ducks in a row. It has not been months since they won it. Its been just under a month since it happened. My guess would be that they are waiting for things to die down a bit more and looking into ways to try to remain as anonymous as possible and meeting with financial advisers lawyers etc. I just hope neither winner has done what i have done twice over the years. Had the ticket in my back pocket of my pants and forgot to remove it before i did m

7 reasons to be glad you didn't hit the PB
I'd rather win lol. Reading this board and other resources on the internet have taught me that if you remain fairly frugal after winning, do your best to stay anonymous, know how to say NO, hire the right individuals to help you (attorneys, accountants, wealth managers), etc that you should be OK. Notice I said hire the RIGHT individuals, not the doofus attorney the TN Powerball winners hired that told them Yes! Go on the Today show, go on the Ellen show, get on the cover of People magazine!

The ugly side of the win. How would you deal with close family and friends who...?
* And don't go spending like crazy or you will end up like Cynthia. I didn't see the ABC interview. Maybe I can look for it on YouTube. Brad Duke is one of the few lottery winners who actually did very well with his winnings. I have said it before on Lottery Post, and I will say it again. If I ever win a lottery jackpot, I want it to be in a state where I can remain anonymous!

Would you support a cooling-off period?
I personally believe it's smart to wait to come forward and let public interest and media frenzy die off before claiming for at least 3 or 4 months. I would live off my savings during that time and prepare the best and most anonymous way to claim that I possibly could. With that being said if someone wants to come forward the very next day after winning and claim a major JP that should be their decision to make, not the lottery commissions.

Georgia Lottery winner killed during home invasion
So sorry for this young mans death. He had to know the intruders or told someone and that someone told another person whom he probably told to keep quiet. He should have moved and only told certain people like his mom where he was moving because you can't expect to stay in the same neighborhood and someone not know you won. When you win the lottery You have NO Friends and If you did have friends you have to keep giving them money to remain a friend. I really hope states let people remain

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
I'm all for anonymous claiming of jackpots but not state funded extortion like that. It's not extortion. They're simply letting you voluntarily pay them for their loss of marketing opportunity if they can't use your identity to promote the lottery. I think they're charging more than the loss justifies, but there's a logical argument for the concept.

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
If they are that worried they should not be playing the lottery. That is part of what comes with it. But the reality is that most do not have any major issues if they are smart. As a player who is spending money I want proof that there are real winners. If I won and could be anonymous I would probably do so but if I can't I don't care. I am well prepared and I am not afraid of anyone. I would say that anyone who has a problem come and get you some, I will have presents waiting for you. But in my

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
What do these officials have to say to states and countries that allow winners to remain anonymous? Kind of throws their whole argument right out the window.

Don't You Find It Interesting?
No not really, they DECREASED the odds by adding balls not increased the odds. So of course it is going to be a lot harder. With more interest and the billion dollar hype even more people played, thus raising the jackpot even more and kept compounding from there both in plays and the jackpot amount. Nothing miraculous about it as 3 winners won, as finally most or all of the combinations wee bought. Also won by all who will be revealed eventually. Would have been more interesting if it went to $2

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
Wheww alot of dumb in this story. I agree with other posters, why would an attorney encourage a public announcement of winning. Why would you listen to that? Herd mentally in action folks. I win any size jackpot im gonna try every possible way to remain anonymous, or at least just keep it limited to the lottery website. They just put a big flashing bullseye on their back. Money can't buy common sense.
